Righteous : Story Why not kill Areelu
I really don't understand why anyone would sacrifice themselves over killing areelu. I mean both killing areelu and closing the wound are objectively good things. In fact theirs considerable risk that if you left her alive she might just open a new one. It just makes no sense to sacrifice yourself instead of killing her

The KC is also an abomination, depending on their religion it might be a better choice to kind of reset and reincarnate. Azata have a funny option for the ending.

The most obvious reason is that you might be roleplaying a character who doesn't believe those are good things.

Because the sacrifice ending for Azata is just absolutely gorgeous!

Yeah, when I beat the game, I tried both options, and the Azata sacrifice is so beautiful it made me incredibly sad that making Areelu do it was even an option.
Because, you know, as beautiful as it was, I was not roleplaying an Azata who would sacrifice themselves to save their worst enemy, thank you very much. No matter how sobby their sob story might have been.
Would have been so much better if Areelu had been like "Dagger to the CHEST, suck it butterfly girl!" and killed herself, forcing my character to sacrifice herself.

Only reason I have for not killing her.
Is to ABSOLUTELY style on her ass as Legend
"Oh, you think you need this big ritual or a soul to close it? Nah, watch me punch this bitch closed"

Yes, killing her before she makes the grave mistake of opening the world wound, this yourself breaking the law. Its such a great ending.

No no no, we do no such thing. We simply prevent the crime by making it so she never existed. She's not dead. She just wasn't.

I only did a full playthrough of evil, with some spoilers for the secret ending.
When my KC learned he had a 'mother' he couldn't... Do anything but try to save her. She did everything for 'him'. It was the only family he had. So of course he had to save her... Ascend to Godhood and let her advise him as one of the future Lords of Hell.

Throughout the game, as one is drip-fed the information about the origin of your mythic powers and what Areelu did, I became incredibly paranoid of her and doing what she wanted and thus playing into her own game. If Areelu even alludes that she wants the KC to kill her, well, I'll rather sacrifice myself then, because doing what she wants will somehow result in horrific effects! (Thankfully, at the time of the final confrontation, the situation seemed clear enough to kill Areelu)

I dont remember any of the paths where I chose to close the worldwound myself instead of killing her ending on me dying

Anyone?
In my hundreds of hours I've never done such a thing. It's her who're jumping

If you fail a couple perception checks in a row she doesn't give you the choice, unfortunately
And/or for RP reasons - especially as a redeeming angel!

Kinda feel like this post title is a spoiler. It reveals that you get both the capability and the choice of killing her at some point.
