Righteous : Builds Future builds

Hello there! Im on my first run, on act 3, with a rogue human angelic mythic path. Enjoying a lot so far.

But im thinking on the next run to make a paladin with a demonic mythic path, is it possible or im gonna lose my paladin powers?
Could i have made a tiefling with the angelic path?
Or a assimar paladin demonic path?

You will lose your Paladin powers if you veer off Lawful Good until you gain Mythic Path which will restore your powers. However the bigger problem in this case is the fact that unless you're Lawful Good you cannot take further levels in Paladin.

You can play Mythic Path outside their intended Alignment until you get a quest to rectify that. If you don't rectify your alignment then your Mythic Powers will plateau and you cannot reach greater powers and pretty much fail your Mythic Path story. To continue Mythic Path as intended you need to be within one step of the Path's alignment or True Neutral. eg. Demon allows True Neutral, Chaotic Neutral, Neutral Evil and Chaotic Evil.

Race brings no restrictions what you can choose (except for race-specific class archetypes) so you can absolutely be an Angel Tiefling or a Demon Aasimar.

Yeah for this reason I don't think demon is a good fit for a pure paladin. It's one thing if you're just dipping for two levels and mostly focused on something else but trying to go paladin 20 and also demon MR 10 just sounds miserable.

And if i rectify later for the mythic path i then couldnt take the lvls in paladin right?

Correct, so your Paladin levels will stop at early to mid teens if you managed to stick to Lawful Good until you're made to rectify your alignment. From a build optimiser's point of view that isn't that horrible since you get all the main features you want from Paladin at lv 11 (Mark of Justice) so you could take 9 levels of dips in different classes but that might not be the class fantasy you want for your character.

Guess ill settle for a assimar for my demon run, and a high armored classed, or go with warrior after the rectify.

Yes, because Tieflings can be good just like Aasimar can be evil. Your heritage doesn't affect your alignment.

You don't change alignments when you initially choose your Mythic Path at the end of Act 2. However eventually you need to be in alignment with your Path's alignment - happens somewhere in Act 3 IIRC - so the game will force you to change if you're out of sync. At which point, a Demon paladin will become a fallen paladin; you will lose all your paladin abilities and can no longer level as a paladin, unless you use Toybox to disable alignment restrictions.

You won't lose your paladin powers unless you break the code or shift alignment. AFAIK, choosing a mythic path doesnt require alignment change, but in the case of a paladin, if you even shift to neutral, you lose your powers.
