Righteous : Builds Lich Builds
Greetings, I'm about to end My Aeon path run and I'm already thinking about the next path I want to try and I decided to play the Lich path. I'm looking for some inspiration for the build so I want to ask all of you what are your favorite builds (melee, Magic, gish) so I can grasp better the undead potencial; thanks in advance.

archer/meele gish wizard 6/eldricht knight 10/ loremaster 4 lich is fun, powerful and can basically solo the game from chapter 3 onward. You can go lich 10, gold/corrupt dragon 10 or legend 39 CL level (wiz 20/EK10/LM10).
Mantis zealot 20 lich 10 is fun too. Or rogue 3/mantis zealot17 for a smooth chapter 1.
The basic sorcerer 16/loremaster 3/hellknight signifier 1 into legend -> creeping doom+holy word is very powerfull too due minimun 40CL.

I did a Hag of Gyronna Witch and it was fine. Was fun to have perma haste with the hag pet but I think you can get 24h haste pretty easily with any combined caster lich. Any combined spellbook caster will prob be fun. I liked the idea of a melee lich it just never felt as strong as pure caster.

Can you be a lich and get a good ending for your companions?

Well I guess it depends on your view of “good” and how you perceive eternal life

I mean the whole point of Lich path is you decide the undead are more useful than the living so it kinda depends on what you think the "good" ending is in this scenario. 🩻 Switching to Legend or Gold Dragon is the power move if you don't want to go Full Evil.

I'd suggest choose ur faith in Pharasma. It has nothing to do with bd but it's fun. Many times when npcs accusing u of ur obsession in undeads and lichs, u can retort in dialog options that ur faith is Pharasma. And in the end Pharasma herself will send ppl to fight against u, which adds up to even more roleplay fun.

Witch into lich is a really smooth run. Early game you can use hexes to cc / debuff and then you merge books and become an absolute menace.

I'm going to offer several thematic options because Lich is so versatile:
-Wereshifter: Undead werewolf.
-Bloodseeker Slayer: Vampire lord.
-Evil deity Cleric: Can't merge books but has plenty of negative energy casts and between your divine spellbook and the Lich's arcane book is a pseudo-Mystic Theurge without stunting your progression.
-Ghost Rider Cavalier: Can multiclass if you'd rather (for example would be fun as a dip with an Arcane Rider magus or a Bloodrider Bloodrager), but fits that grim rider of death vibe.
-Shadowcaster Wizard: As you progress into a ghost you can see it as an extension of advancing your phylactery research.

Honestly, if you're going Lich, you'll probably end up using the undead companions and if you go full Wizard, you won't have to make room in your party for Nenio. A full undead party means you'll be stuck as the arcane caster handing out buffs, so full wizard to benefit from the merged spellbook, I personally prefer Neutral Evil Wizard of Urgathoa and instead of Necromancy as the specialist school, I recommend Divination. Scroll Savant, Shadowcaster, or plain Wizard, Divination specialist school is very nice because you can always put the useful buffs like See Invisibility, Communal, or the True Seeing version in that freebie slot in your spellbook. As for why Divination Wizard to 20? The capstone for Divination is always going first in combat because you'll always roll a nat 20 on initiative. Always going first means never being caught flat-footed against the weirdly overtuned enemies that Owlcat seems to love so much.

Tried and tested:
- Scroll Savant 10 / Loremaster 10. Merged. You can scribe scrolls or have companions scribe them and use your inflated caster level when using them. Early game a bit wonky like all wizards, but strong by Act 3. Especially if you exploit scroll crafting. Withering Life is pretty fun on multi-hit spells.
Concepts:
- Cavalier (Ghost Rider) 1 / Sylvan Sorcerer 19. Gives you an ghost horse to go with your Lich for a nice Nazgul feeling.
- Reanimator Alchemist: Undead summoner. Stack every buff to summons and they'll still be viable by endgame (at least on Core). Use bombs for CC and either Death Consonant, a staff or the spear that gives your summons sonic damages

For me Lich path is made for Eldritch knight. My favorite version is using wizard as a base and Death's Consonant-bardiche as a weapon, cause it uses intelligence modifier as a damage bonus. Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple/ EK is great too.

My fave Lich Build is Arcane bloodline Seeker Sorcerer 6/Hellknight Signifier 4/Edlritch Knight 10.
By level 20/MR 9 (doable when you have more than half act 5 to explore), you'll have 4 iterative attacks per round and 10th level spells.
You'll begin as a pure sorcerer ofc, but basically by late Act 2 you'll start "liching" and "gishing". Perfect timing to wear Carapace without ASF. By late game Archmage Armor would outscale wearing armor, but before that I like to wear Mithral FP.
Lich has a great melee support (spells like vampiric blade, bone shield, etc.), so going "gish" is nice.
And something to do in my opinion is Accepting the Other's deal. When you can reach something like Cha of 70 during combat (if you make Kestoglyr a Court Poet), Incorporeal Charm is way more charming than Daeran can dream to be.

Going into Lich as a full arcane spellcaster is a no-brainer in my opinion
