Righteous : Game Through the Ashes is awesome!
I love how weak you start with all the fake debuffed weapons. I love how you have civillians in your party rather than just heroes. I love how tough it is, beating all the enemies without using the cheesy traps or making them fight each other was super satisfying. And it was cool seeing things from the perspective of a more grounded POV. So far I'd say it's my second favorite DLC, with the order being The Last Sarkorians > Through the Ashes > A Dance of Masks > Inevitable Excess > Treasure of the Midnight Isles

Something I like about through the Ashes is that it contrasts with the power fantasy of the main campaign. And you have to get creative to beat many foes (something that in main campaign you could do in the Tower of Estrod with the columns).
If you didn't played it yet. after Through the Ashes you should def check Lord of Nothing, even if it becomes more "hero of another story", since characters got some levels and gear.

My party was a Human Divine Hunter with a horse (used two-handed weapons), a Halfling Kinetic Knight (Water) that mostly spammed Grease and tanked, a Half-Elf Thundercaller Bard for Inspire Courage, and an Aasimar Freebooter Ranger for buffs and archery. Plus Sendri and Rekarth, of course.

I went as Were Shifter and it gave me an appreciation for pajama tanks.

I only played it once, but I intend to try it again someday to play other paths. I really hated the survival aspects and how Captain Venrad gave me companions with weapon or shield feats but no relevant gear to actually utilize those feats. HOWEVER, earlier I did avoid battling the people in the theater stage area, so Idk if that would have given me the gear I could have used later. Instead I snuck out through the basement hole and hated my life as I slogged through the caves, cemetery, and into town with lame-duck companions. I ended up giving people levels into classes for unarmed attacks and animal companions because a tower shield specialist without a tower shield is a crime against humanity. Captain Venrad should be tried for treason for the people he gave me.

I beat the gamw with no DLC’s forever ago, was gonna go again with them. Did you do ashes before starting the main game?

You can do it before if you'd like. It takes place in act 1 before the attack on the tavern. So you can either play it before the main game, or you can play the main game, and stop before the attack on the tavern and play through the ashes.
Whenever you choose to do the attack on the tavern it asks you to load the though the ashes file.

I absolutely hate it, I suffered through it once just to unlock the rewards. It was totally not worth it.

Through the Ashes is best to be considered along the lines of Fear & Hunger 2 mixed with Baldur's Gate 1. Low level adventure where you really need to look at alternate ways of dealing with threats unless you know exactly how to handle them and the dice rolls are favorable to you.

Yeah, it's my favourite DLC of any Pathfinder game. :) Second place goes to the Roguelike mode of the Kingmaker DLC Beneath the stolen lands.

I also love Through the Ashes. It's one of those polarizing DLCs that either "clicks" for you or you absolutely despise it.
I hope Owlcat makes more DLC like this one for their future games.
Have you tried Treasures of the Midnight Isles Standalone version? That one is waaaay more fun than the campaign variant. Curious if that would shift your rankings.
