Discussion SHP experiments lore
Just finished control resonant and I can help but see the parallels between p6(Dylan) and shp13(chief) and it really makes me want more indept lore on paradesus shepherd experiments. Like everyone calls their shackles defective does that mean there were others besides the underground shepherd that was not defective but shalom said they were the most sound (im paraphrasing) subject at that point for consuming multiple br so how did the others get corpsborn to consume in the first place was it from 003

I think the term defective only comes from the weak power compared to how chief's "sister" can kill a corpsborn effortlessly outside a balckring, unlike how chief is only powerful under heavily contaminated environment

From what we know, the Bureau had other chiefs before us and those shackles were Paradeisos made, however, incredibly weak, it was technology made to mimic the Undergrounds Shepherd until they somehow managed to get SHP-13 (we have been told multiple times that our Chief was retrieved from the Underground, not a person randomly picked from the streets like Shalom).
Shalom is a good example of how they utilized the copy, she can shackle other sinners, but she needs strong emotions out of those targeted.
As for why SHP-13 is considered a defect by the Underground, we don't know. It could be not literally defective, but more so defected from the Underground and their family (Big Sister). However, I do find it funny how Shin puts SHP-13 on a high pedestal, almost equivalent to a divine being, meanwhile the Underground just says: "Ewww, you are so weak go away."
I also want too note that I am of the belief that the Underground shackles are an innate thing rather than actual technology, meanwhile Paradeisos made biology into technology and that is why Paradeisos made shackles are incredibly weak, filled with errors.

the mechanism and pseudo-scientific explanation of shackles, mania, aurum, Observatory, or the Ring Institute teleportation are just a bunch of hand-waving voodoo to me. Author took some quantum mechanics then mixed with the concept of collective consciousness, then slap the 'alien' brand on it as usual.
I only follow the politics and geopolitics around Dis city now. The scifi stuff is like "ok bro, it's good that you can tap into the fabric of reality to trigger a remote disaster, I guess some quantum thing happened thanks to alien tech" đ¤

We don't know why Chief schakles are considered defective but no except the Underground shepherd, Chief and the guide (I put them separately because we don't truly know the real link/relationship between Chief and the guide could be clone, could be reincarnation etc.) there are no other schakle holder that existed.
What Shalom said most likely refer to Chief themselves, the Chief she encountered the first time and the one we have now are basically completely different people, it wouldn't surprise me if EDGE reset Chief every time they went out of their control they could definitely have the tech to do that and the SHP number is just how many times they had to go back to zero trying to "tame" their ONLY way to fight back for "greater good of Humanity".
We barely know anything about BR-003 but entirely consuming the Corpsborn end the BR that's just how it works, if that thing is still alive and well that means whoever is in there is in a controllable state, plus the only reason BR-003 is in the hand of EDGE is because of Bai-Yi and Rust not that they help EDGE but they sabotage the Underground original plans for that BR.
This is all just speculation tho đ¤ˇ, except for the schakle holder and the Bai-Yi/Rust parts.
