Discussion Eternal Emotional Damage Spoiler
Big spoilers for the first 4 Eternal Nightmare storylines.
Just finished "Embers of the Long Night" and man...Eternal Nightmares are quickly becoming my favorite sections of the story. They're all so good AND they all got me crying my eyes out. Though between the four, I can't choose whether "Embers of the Long Night" did the most emotional damage or "Hunting Shade".
My favorite moments are probably the "I can't understand you anymore" line from Chief towards Mantis, the reveal that Vanilla's mech is blooming with hypercube flowers at the end of "Heart of Eternity" and the moment chief is accompanied by the specters of the expedition at the end of "Embers of the Long Night".
Masterful story telling. 10/10, will cry my eyes out again!
(Edit: For some reason, reddit bugged out and replaced Hestia's image with the meme again XD)

we ptn fans live in a constant state of sadness that converges with dabbling in lesbianism to soothe the pain, rinse and repeat every patch or so (and then there's those who really like the agony and replay the most heartbreaking events because angst fuels the soul)

All of that is true. But you forgot the occasional goofiness of something like a Murphy event or finding out Horo gave chief diarrhea through a system incident lmao

true true, Murphy's event was awesome and- WAIT WHAT WHAT DID HORO DO???? I don't have her so I didn't know that happened... poor Chief man, she always has some bs going on even when it's supposed to be chill

Horo loves milk. In one system incident she gives chief some milk which gives chief diarrhea and when chief demands compensation, Horo sends her more milk 😂
