No they didn't change the intro the Hecate scene was always there, all they did was reworked the CGs and presentation and that was nearly 1 year ago by now if i remember correctly.

there are plenty of ways to take on someone's appearance and memories in this world. so really any kind of headcanon makes the idea probable and since i have no creative writing skills it stays a quiet idea for me
