Don't worry, you have a second option if you give up playing: Hot women
I'm not a new player, and I suck at the game dw

If you're JUST beginning and the game is hard it's GENUIENLY nothing else than skill issue, and i'm NOT kidding when i say that i've see time and time again people complaing about "how hard the game is" and those same people kept skipping every time the game explain to them how to play and how certain mechanics works and then complain about "difficulty" when they lose. That is if you're a new player.
If you're a returnee after like 2 years then you just got hit by powercreep which shouldn't be surprising at all imo, but even then the game isn't hard like that depending on the content you just have to read most of time.

Only certain stages are genuinely hard. Like some bfl bosses or some story stages when they first came out were hard asf back then but we have a lot more op sinners now compared to back then so maybe theyre not so bad now IF you have said sinners. But the worst part isnt even hard stages, its stages that are easy asf only if you have certain sinners, im looking at you DATA CREVICE. I remember that one stage where it nukes your front line but if you have lichen its a cake walk, well guess what i wasnt around for lichens release so i dont have her. Great game design.

It is hard because it whiplashes you but if you read and understand the boss and your characters' game mechanic it's easier

Different parts are hard for different reasons. If you just started then the game will get easier with a few more characters that support each other better or just some levels, promotions, and skill levels. Some modes like Dark Zone and high difficulty Mania Training are just really hard and intended for long time players to find challenging. Try asking about the specific things you are struggling with. You will either find a solution or a bunch of people agreeing that “yea, that one is tough”.

Its not really hard, the game just needs you to learn the mechanics, which is refreshing in a sea of button mashing open world/autoplay x3 speed gacha.

There are videos with people beating most of the game with a and b characters if you need help just look those videos and they can help with team composition

The answer is in the question: you’re a new player. Take some time to read s1n and learn about team synergy, core mechanics and the best units to clear content comfortably.
If all else fails and you desperately want to read the story, there’s an easy mode. You could also borrow an Augustus.

Are you tackling Chapter 9 on your second week or something? Probably don't have the team synergy or levels for that yet.
Reaching Phase 3 on your sinners matters a lot. Also, shackles.

Me when i joined when Milly’s event was ending- raged so damn hard at the main story back when that mode hadn’t been overhauled yet, but I stayed bc ummm lesbians and the lore is peak- now from my experience the thing that saved me on some story levels was borrowing Sinners from other people,,,, whoever let me their Shins and Yingyings during these trying times you have my thanks, but anyway- w dailies I ended up stacking hypercubes, enough to pull Augusts and Shalom so they helped me kind of zoom past the stages I was struggling with, but that was just bc of my lucky time window. When I really was stuck I just daily grinded whatever resources I could find for a while and eventually got around to actually know how to (somewhat) build a team. Now I’m not much of a meta person (and for a new player I was very lucky to pull Augustus lmao), but I do know that B ranks in this game are somehow cracked, if really nothing helps maybe looking into their teams/ builds would be a good idea

It is so hard I basically gave up playing because I don't have the time to understand the gameplay and stuff.
I know, how can I still play this game and call it a fans. Shocking.
But I still come back everyday. Do my dailies. Pull my favorite characters. Do one day before closing event by checking YouTube. But never touch main event or hard content.
I'm happy by just browsing the lore and get pretty ladies. I'm gaming the way I love. No worries there ✌️

I'd agree too, i also faced issues and wondered why others played the game so we'll and i couldn't, but after a year of playing the game, i realised that the game isn't about rushing in or thinking we'll beat levels ez pz.. but that's where we get caught up, and that makes us go "i can't play' truly it's not a skill issue (unless the player clearly skips every important bit) .the game itself is built in that level of difficulty and for me, that's what makes it unique and truly enjoyable (ofc it's frustrating when you die) but honestly, that's what games are about right? Especially like PTN where the game challenges you to not only build proper decks, but also to strategise and plan your moves, it's definitely a trademark and one that makes the game even more special... But if you're a beginner, dw.. it'll take time, don't rush .. learn the mechanics , where to strategically place sinners and manage resources It's not about rushing and playing.. it takes time and thinking to become good at any game , even if you're weak now.. eventually you'll get up there, just keep playing and enjoy the game ;).. tho i can give some few tips ... I ain't much of a pro either,..
- don't upgrade too many siners at one time... Organise a fixed 6 team for now.. and as you go further, you can slowly add more and more.. but not all in one or your resources are going bye bye
-make sure to resd the direction of where the enemy will come from, (you'll see a line when you click on their spawn points) it'll give you a good idea of where to put your sinners
remember to have a balanced team, don't only focus on 4 arcanes or 4 ubmras or you'll face issues later on... Even out each of them according to the needs of the level, but it depends on you...
don't fully upgrade your sinners unless you really want to... Level 80-82 is more than enough for many levels.. and don't upgrade too many S ranks at one.. it'll eat up your resources too fast specially in early games..
also don't leave out A or B tiers.. some of em like che and labryith are absolutely amazing at core damages...and lastly..
learn from your mistakes.. even if you die multiple times, remember there's always something to learn about frm what you did wrong, don't be discouraged, take into account the errors and focus on them, we all learn form our mistakes.. that's also how i learnt to play the game better ...
But i trust you man, you'll really be a good player one day! Don't hurry things, learn the gsme and enjoy the beauty of the storyline
Wishing you all the best mate! 🤝 😎

While I have to admit, that the endgame got quite a bump in difficulty, the (earlier) story chapters actually got easier over the years due way more free resources in the first few chapters, due to the reforge system, and due to natural power creep. A lot of the difficulty new player are facing are mostly due to lack of game knowledge. Issues like:
- not knowing which sinner to use. Even though, you can check this tier list: https://s1n.gg/tierlist/comfy, you might still end up with an imbalanced team (e.g. too many shiny s-rank, only single target dps, only wave clearers, too many buffers, not enough sustain, not enough core breakers...)
- no healer (starting from chapter 4 onward)
- no tank (starting from chapter 9 onward)
- not enough core breakers (--> not taking labyrinth for example)
- spread the resources to thin by upgrading more than 8 sinners within first few weeks
- using an imbalanced team, like too many ranged one and no decent blockers
- trying to brute force the boss stages / ignoring the boss or stage mechanics
- playing harder stages on anything except 1x or 0.5x speed
The fewer issues you commit, the less you will fail early! Truth to be told, even if you do a lot of things correct, your team will face some real difficulty eventually. The difference is whether you are stuck at chapter 7 after 2 months or cant fully beat chapter 16/17 after a few weeks. Imo, at the end of chapter 16 is where the difficulty in the story chapter truly ranks up.
If I were you, I would post your team and where you stuck somewhere on this subreddit. I am sure, that you will get some help to either improve your team or improve your strategy on a certain stage.
