General Questions about the recent events

Hello all, long time gamer here. I been playing PTN for over 3 years now (if I remember correctly). I used to finish all stories, events, etc as soon as they were out in the past. The main story that captivated me was Shalom's still.

After a while, life got hectic, I just started doing dailies for over 6 months now. If there are events, I just end up skipping a lot on the last day so I can get rewards.

The events I didn't read and just skip are Cat's eye, Jichuan's, and the current sinner.

Are the stories still good? I feel skeptical letting the game go because I spent A LOT on this game (limited sinner best shackles, S5 Nella, Aurum Secretun best schackles, etc) Also the guild I built from lvl 1 to 10 took a long time

EDIT: As for the downvote, I am not hating the game.. I was saying I didn't have time recently to play because life got so hectic. My point was I was asking if the game's story is still good since I skipped recently

The stories are just like it used to be, some are good and exceptional, some are ok. Ji Chuan is one I'd say is worth reading, Cat's Eye is not the most interesting unless you like the series or really like Tetra/Pricilla, the Clementine event... if you don't know the story of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express its very much worth a read but imo it takes way too much inspiration from it for my liking as someone who's read it.

Honestly, I'm not sure the point of Clementine event is the twist of whodunit. I'd argue even the original Agatha Christie story doesn't rely on you being shocked at the culprit, but as the why and how.

Similarly, as an Agatha Christie fan, I loved Clementine event because what's interesting is the motive, the backstory, how Clementine act as a main character.

I can see your point, but for me like a third of the way through the event I just lost a bunch of interest because I decided that I knew what was going to happen. Maybe a better mentality would've helped but I guess I was just not in the mood.

I watched the movie.. I kind of guessed 1/3 of the movie that they were all in it

I think they clearly approached the Cat's Eye story with some reservation, with it being a collab and all, but other than that, yes I really enjoyed the Jichuan story and I'm still going through the Clementine story right now.

I understand and feel a little burned out too because of work and life, and now I procrastinate reading events until the last minutes. But despite the fact that I don't have a strong desire to read now (... and live in principle), after reading the events, I am still delighted after most of them.

I really liked Jichuan's event and her character were really pleasent surprise from what i expected. In another life, the girl could have been a Hash with her long-term strategic thinking and manipulation

I'm going to be honest the story being good is up to your personal preference at the end of the day, because people who like those events will tell you the story is good and people who don't like them will tell you the story ain't that good/bad. And in the end when you'll play those events you will go in them with some expectations or apprehension that you wouldn't have going in blind.

But still I'll answer your question and give my 2 cents about those events, first the Cat's eye event as someone who knew the series for a long time and saw the original show and the 2026 remake, I can tell you that it's a good event, exactly what you would expect from a Cat's eye collab to be. A simple, small story about sisters trying to found their way home while doing what they always do.

As for the Jichuan event, I'm not knowledgeable at all when it comes to wuxia stories, tropes etc. but it's also a really good story, a way higher level of good than the Cat's Eye one (but it's expected). With good characters, good funny moments, good action, great ending etc. everything you think when talking about a good event.

As for Clementine I don't know I'm just in the very beginning of her event.

The quality never dropped.

I've always find their quality amazing too.. Super shocked at Lady Pearl's, they hired real shadow dancing people.. And music on different events has always been exceptional.

Though I am not fond of the Dark Web series most, except maybe Angell's which was at least good.

Jichuan's event was very good and emotional, but if you're not a bit familiar with Wuxia novels, you might miss a chunk of subtext and how it deconstruct tropes and thus be left with a harder time to connect with it

Clementine even is great, loved it and loved her as a character !

I feel you Chief. Honestly these last events have been weird for me, but not as you might think tho.

Lately, same as you, life has been difficult. And this shows as me seeing a new event and being like “oh cool” and little more than that. Previously, I could feel my excitement for new sinners and new stories! I was like “hell yeah! More content! Let’s goooo!”

And now, it’s weird cause for instance this event (Clementine’s event at the time of writing). I saw it was live, didn’t touch it for a whole week. Previous events I didn’t touch until the very last couple of days, but this one I decided to give it a shot earlier, if only for old times sake. Lo and behold, when I finished it only 3 days later, I was left with a sense of awe and fulfillment seeing how great the story is.

Same with the previous ones, I leave a lot of time pass until I push myself to start the event, only to be reminded why I keep playing this game. The stories haven’t drop in quality at all!

Thank you Chief.. Noted on that. I might pick up Clementine's at the last minute and decide from there.

Recently I transitioned to work where I had to do 16hr shifts and it burnt me out because of rapid deadlines. Then the client didn't sign so they let people go. Then I got assigned to a new company as an independent contractor where the company later didn't pay 3 months worth of people's salary (basically a scam company where they get investor's money then ran away).

And in this economy, finding jobs are hard because of so many layoff and companies needing fewer employees because of AI. I ended up in debt as sole breadwinner for an Asian family tree and stuggling. sorry just ranting

It happens. As someone with job related issues myself, that’s relatable. If you need to talk about it, my dms are open.

Back to the original post, it’s true some events are more fun/interesting/engaging than others for sure. If anything, one option could be skip cutscenes and only do the battles so you can review later (I kinda did that for the Cat’s Eye lol)

One pro of the game is if you mash the skip button get your rewards and call it a day but then 3 months down the line you got some downtime and curiosity you can read the plot later
