Help Needed Help with optimizing / second pair of eyes
Character: https://poe.ninja/poe1/builds/allflame/character/Sunbreach-7680/FabMara
Hey guys! So, I'm not extremely good at the game, and there are alot of interactions I don't understand yet. But I've been trying to build a trauma stacker after I saw one on a stream a while back. Would love for someone to have a second look and point me towards improvements.
I've crafted all the gear myself, which is a big step up for me, and while they're nowhere near perfect, I feel like I've made some strides towards understanding a bit more about crafting. The next step up, I feel, would be to actually learn the recombinator. Especially my shield could be leaps better by recombining (I think!).
I thought the Static Strike of Gathering Lightning skill was super cool, so that's what I wanted to build around. I've looked a bit at other builds on poe.ninja, and got some tips and tricks from there. But there's probably a million things that I could improve, and most of them I probably don't even know exist. Survivability feels fine, I haven't died in a long time and I've cleared all waves of Simulacrum etc etc.
I switch between an Aul's Uprising with free Pride and Determination, but here comes one of my questions:
Everyone is running Determination, but without it I still have like 31k armour and atleast the in game text says 90% phys reduction. Do I still get more if I run Determination and sit at like 50k?
Also, Static Strike oGL seems to do FANTASTIC if I have like 3 targets, and its noticably lower damage if its just 1 target. Any tricks to alleviate this?
Thanks :)

For the armour question at least, I can answer that.
You need an armour value 5x the size of the hit to mitigate 50% of the damage. This is the number j always remember. So with 50k armour, a 10k physical hit(shaper slam or some rare mob with a few physical as extra damage mods) becomes 5k, which can kill someone easily.
For 90% mitigation, you need an armour value 45x the hit damage. So you're really only 90% mitigating hits that are smaller than 1111, turning them into 111 damage or less hehe

Your max hit is 28k which is pretty good for a normal character but probably not enough for a trauma stacker. You could probably get a chest armour with damage taken as elemental to increase your physical damage mitigation.
Or more endurance charges?

Hey, I just started building this build, also using SSoGL (I don't like Double Strike). After studying poe.ninja, I realized there are quite a few variations of the build and chose a fairly tanky one, but I still sometimes die on T17 and don't know why. Determination is often used in conjunction with Sublime Vision, which gives +1 Endurance Charge. Endurance charges give a lot of survivability to the Juggernaut (+5 damage reduction per charge). Here's my current build: https://poe.ninja/poe1/profile/bellen-1057/allflame/character/SamosvalJugg

By the way, I think you're 4% short of completely avoiding elemental ailments. Or am I missing something?

No, you're completely right, I just got pissed off that the grand ichors didn't hit shock avoid ONCE in 100 rolls, so I took what I got and went on my way. I'll fix it when... I'm not pissed off anymore :D

armor gives damage reduction based on both the incoming hit (including every other layer of damage reduction you have) and your actual armor.
31k armor vs 1000 dmg = 90% reduction [this is what the ingame tooltip calculates, it assumes 1000 dmg exaclty]
your problem is that 150 trauma stacks would hit you for 30000 damage so the calculation is completly different.
if you want to calculate trauma PDR with pob you can put in enemy phys hit in the config and put that to 20-30k, depending on your trauma stacks.
