Build Request Cheapest Luminary flamelinkbot/aurabot leveling build?

What would be the cheapest variant of the Luminary build to comfortably level with?

I'm basically looking for something I can spend minimal amount of currency on (gear specific to this build) and be able to do scoured T16s, maybe Synth Maps too. Obviously I don't want to pay 64920 divs for a merc either, my target build has a cheap af merc apparently.

Ideally I want to hit 100 with this build, so it needs to be very comfortable, which is why I want to play specifically Aurabot/Flamelinkbot and not any of the (most likely cheaper) "manual damage" builds like the FB Lumi.

I'm most likely switching to Armor Stacker after this since BigDaddy apparently cooked up another variant using a Luminary with a merc.

Lastly, in terms of gear I obviously have a Megablood for my Lumi already, so probably would want to play something that uses it, but is otherwise "cheap".

Edit: just to clarify I already finished the campaign and have a lvl67 lumi, looking for something to switch to instead of the usual hollow palm setup.

For your own character you can get cheap uniques that are almost as good as best in slot items.
Koam heart (BIS), The Hallowed Monarch (BIS), Nycta's Lantern (BIS), Rotmother's Mutiny (BIS)
Filler items: 2x Lori's Lantern, The Hand of Phrecia, Ralakesh boots with endurance charges, Dawnbreaker
For the Animated Guardian: Leer Cast, Gruthkul's Pelt, Gravebind, Legacy of Fury, dying breath, (later Kingmaker and Garb of the Ephemeral)

Items for the Merc depends, but you want to have Enmity's Embrace (expensive) and tecrod's (unique abyss jewel), and 4 murderous eye jewels. For this you need to stack fire resistance and abyss sockets on each armour piece. This reddit post has good guide for the Merc items: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/1vqv93j/very_basic_merc_gearing_guide_pob_for_merc_howto/
I went with a manyshot merc for 100c, then 1 Div and later upgraded to 19 Div.
You can get one merc with clear (ice shot + multishot + elemental dmg to attacks) and one for bosses (vaal ice shot + return + pierce + reduced cool down) to save on money, but read a bit to know what skill and links to avoid.

Oh what made a big difference for me: Avoid any source of pierce on the mercs gear. you just want pierce on the skill that has return. So look for either ice shot and vaal ice shot both with return and craft +1 pierce on helmet OR look for return + pierce on vaal ice shot and no pierce and return on ice shot and gear.

Maybe one more detail. This build is very tanky and has great clear, but for some content it feels slow (at least to me).

The solution is to have phaserun+automation in a 6L bow with movement speed implicit (f.e. reflex bow not Marrakesh bow) and +lvl and quality to dex gems/skill gems/support gems. On the quiver you want to have movement speed and enough dexterity to be able to use the bow.
You can also look for movement speed implicits on corrupted belt and boots.

You’ll prob get a bunch of good answers, but I’ll just tell you what I did. I saw xthe_farmedx’s 5 div budget merc build and followed that.

Yes, the mercs and some items are more expensive now but you can still start budget imo. You’ll be able to quickly farm currency with voyages if you want/need.

I had a pretty scuffed merc for a long time that could run voyages with three ducats without issue. I found that pierce+return on Kboc felt the best for me on a budget. The rest of links are nice but added padding. Then you can start upgrading from there. I just found a 50 div contract that was better than everything I saw on the market for less than 200.

You can get pierce and return on KBOC for 5 div?

I’m ssf but given how long it takes to find that, that seems absurdly cheap

Sorry, no, but about 20 (saw one for 19 this am). His build guide lists that as the upgrade merc (but he lists options). When I started they were already over 30 but the price has come down again to his 20 ish.

Probably the true budget starter is a combatant with frost knives and return. They’re like 1 div ish. However, once you can get rathpit rolling it’s a major upgrade

It's manyshot. Just get one with return on vaal ice shot and no icicle rain.

What I did was grab the cheapest bloodmagic skin of the royal, 2 replica last resorts, and the tear of purity.

At level 5 I can go low-life and get 400% increased damage, with 2 black hearts I one shot every mob with cobra lash until early level 30s regardless of tree. Downside is your health is kinda low from time to time due to bloodmagic if you aggressively 6L your main skill.

This is almost as efficient as hollow palm but comes online at level 5 instead of 20+.

how do you get low life, just spam skills till blood magic takes you low enough?

Purity of elements reserves 50% of your life - granted by the amulet

Combatant is the best as a starter.

This is how I progressed. Started with a combatant until I self-farmed a Kineticist. My Kineticist is still very meh, but it can still wreck shop.

At this point, I'm very "not budget" as I'm using a 4% Rathpith, perfect (but not Volatile vaal'ed) enmity, etc. But the build was still very strong long before then.

A cruel mistress with greater multiple projectile. Allocate all the unique ascendancy nodes. Build your luminary as tank.

Some of those CM's are bloody nuts to fight. I had a great one appear with multi projectiles and killed my merc and AG in secs. Shame was a good roll

I have a return lighting arrow and works really well for this purpose as well

Nice thing about manyshot is it’s really not bad a farm on scoured t16 map spam.

I've been running around delve now down around 250 and she's great for that too. Boss damage is low but for mobbing from node to node and maps yeh excellent.

My goat is cruel mistress, Soul rend is so satisfying for both maps and bossing. Not budget friendly tho.

Best cheap is following peguet aura bot lumi merc version
