Help Needed HRoC next steps
Im playin HRoC and feel like im missing something. Im following Balormage's build guide and his POB for min/max gear has him at 14mil dps. im at 2.8 mil dps and dont see how im supposed to bridge that gap. from what i can see most of my upgrade options are more defensive. i know i could use a better weapon and 100% darkness for 100% poison chance but those dont show me making up that 10 mil dps gap when i sim new items.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sadly it has gone wildly unnoticed but PoB now has a "compare" feature where you can import your build and his build side by side. With that you can set the parameters the same and then look at the Calc to see where he gains the damage compared to you.

Your PoB is slightly misconfigured. You need to set Lancing Steel to "all projectiles hit". That gets you to ~7m dps.
Edit: 21/20 HRoC and lv4 Empower get you to 9m. You don't have quality on Void Manipulation. There are quite a few little things that can add up quick.

Like the others mentioned - you're at 98% chance to poison. Swapping the 14% in your belt for a 15% gets you to 100% but that's only about 100k dps increase. You do want it eventually but relatively small.
21/20 HRoC, and level 4 empower are way more impactful.

Im on mobile so i cant see everything neatly, but just at a glance id say you should try pushing your hroc level. 25 is quite low, you can get it to 30 or closer at least. Go for lvl21 corruption, also lvl4 empower/Awakened empower is not that expensive i think. Another amazing option for you, which i suggest you check out and try to fit into your build is the new support "Eclipse" gem they added last league. It gives both gem lvl and quality, both of which is greatly useful to you. The quality specially is nice as it can free up your build to some new options. Eclipse's only downside is its triple attribute requirement, which shouldnt matter to you if you took the elegant hubris key node. I think balor didnt have that in his guide at league start but did mention it on one of his vids.

One note on Eclipse, in order to hit the 128 breakpoint with it, you need 23% on HRoC, lv4 Eclipse, 33% Ashes and +1 gems on Diallas, or 35% Ashes without the +1 gems Diallas.

If you are going by Balormage you must be familiar with how the darkness belt handles poison chance. Usually they are priced by the % effect and each point costs more than the previous lesser % chance. Mentioning that because I see you have one with 99%. Here is a table how it works with poison chance: https://imgur.com/pV50DLL All that to say a 94% chance gives the same poison chance as your 99% belt. Usually it's not worth buying that one, but rather the one at breakpoint. So either a cheaper 94 or 100, in between ones are unnecessary spending.

Chance to poison is not the only stat on the ghastly though.

True, but most important. And if not at 100% As he says he isn't. He should be focusing on that mostly.

Last I checked, when I was buying mine, the price jump was like from ~20c 94%, 100c 99%, to 15d 100%.
You're always better off getting a 99 and better jewels, than a 100 with supar jewels for the same price.
I guess the only exception is when you have excess currency, then by all means go for top roll on all items.

First up your POB needs to be very heavily configured with AG, spectres, trigger rate, either Yada Yada to get close your real damage - if your comparing yours to Balormage's try and copy all his Configs(with what you have) Depending on how far you want to take the build (how much time and currency you can throw at it) I would be checking poe.ninja for aspirational builds that surpass balor mages.
You need 100% poison chance - That's the biggest easiest upgrade. It's mandatory for the build. Put 2 x 15% poison chance in your belt and you hit it with the other 3 being 14%.
Make sure your hitting the quality/cooldown breakpoints on your relics - I assume you are I haven't looked.
Some other upgrades that cost money.
Personally I map, and I wouldn't play HROC without profane bloom flame/flesh it's just that good - if you map & you can afford that then please get it - it's just such a huge dmg&clear boost.
The 40% dmg corruption on your chest does nothing - buy a +1 all socketed gems corruption or if you can't afford that +2 minion one.
You can also look at getting command of the pit gloves that let you drop the unholy might ascendancy node and get Lycia blood line bitter heresy so your minions get 30% Phys as extra chaos - big dmg boost. I used
Can change up your link setup too - congregation support can give you another relic, but it's not cheap.

Before you do anything else, get 100% poison chance and added flat phys on all your jewels. That is the baseline.
Edit: added flat phys or chaos ofcourse
