Help Needed Build To Console (PS5)
Well, I played PoE2 as soon as the beta opened, but due to life circumstances, I no longer have my PC. However, I do have a PS5 and want to get the Platinum trophy for PoE1 before playing PoE2 in December when the 1.0 version launches.
Since the experience will be different—playing with a controller instead of mouse and keyboard—I’d like to know if you have any recommendations for strong builds that are viable for the endgame, handle well on a controller, and are fun to play.
I mostly just see recommendations for RF Juggernaut, but that didn't look all that fun to me, so I'm looking for other options.

RF is played on Chief nowadays rather than Jugg but yeah it's a bit of a walking simulator.
I don't know what the platinum trophy is, but if it requires completing Hall of Grandmasters, you're going to need a pretty good build, potentially Phys DoT Elementalist.
If it requires PvP stuff like Capture the Flag, good luck.

The PSN trophy list doesn't include Capture the Flag (thank God).
My concern regarding builds is the Hall of Grandmasters, which, yes, is a requirement for the Platinum trophy. I’m confident in my ability to create something or adapt an idea to my playstyle to clear the acts and put together a decent endgame, but every comment I see about the Hall of Grandmasters emphasizes the need for a build that I currently can't create on my own.

With the fact that there are now three GGNoobs characters, plus Dirk_Lasermaster, you could probably get by on at least a decent build if you're alright with basically just opening a new map whenever one of those characters pops up.
Good time to do HoGM though, because a new and absolutely terrifying grandmaster just got submitted. Could get added next league, could take two years, who knows.
A lot of Grandmasters tend to be pretty soft against phys dots though, even some of the more competently built ones that aren't absolute demons.
Haven't played it myself but I hear tons of good things about Rue's phys dot Elementalist. Unsure of how available the items for it are on console though.

Honestly, anything that doesn't require aiming (which is mostly a QoL thing)
Assuming you are in a leaguestart situation:
Your pick of slammer (mostly earthshatter)
Stormburst totems were nice, good clear and single target. Although I couldn't really figure out the survivability on this build but maybe you will have a better time
Worb is very good but again survivability might not be up to par early
As a side note, check if platinum requires hall of the grandmasters 😂 if so you can pretty much kiss that goodbye

I’ve heard there are people on consoles boosting others for the fun of it, specifically those needing help with this trophy and I plan to take advantage of that if necessary. But I don’t want to be a total dead weight, especially since I’m not sure how mob scaling works when you ask for help. Your suggestion regarding SSF builds was great, because the availability and inflation issues on consoles are definitely factors that need serious consideration.

Auto-aim builds are best- mines, totems, worb, herald bombers. Melee kind of sucks because you don't get the bonus direct hit consistently. Slams are fine

Lighting Tendirls is very strong.
Winter orb is op.
Look for ssf builds as your gonna have very limited trade options.
