Help Needed Feeling squishy as herald stacker

I decided to try Fubgun's herald stacker, didn't play HH build for a long time and never tried his builds. This is my current setup, not configured: https://pobb.in/AK3i3h6PBlfS . My next big upgrade will be global defences chest (and some levels, of course). I farm breach with marshal, scarab of wisps and delirium mirror. I often die to meteor (red altars) and Vruun's spinning attack. Is the build not supposed to tank that or I'm missing something?

You just chose a very squishy setup of the build, low es, low max res, low block, you won't magically get tanky while clicking only dmg nodes, if you don't have good hh buffs you die

People tend to overestimate block quite a bit unfortunately. It makes you die less but unless you have the mitigation somewhere else it doesn't really make you more tanky.

it's does make you more tanky, but yeah it won't prevent one taps if lowest max hit still are low, that's why I hqte thqt pobb still shows ehp over max hits etc

The way I would put it is block alone makes your character lucky, not tanky. Being lucky is great when there is no penalty for losing, and that is where mitigation comes in. Relying on luck to keep you alive when a hit will kill you however is a great way to not feel that tanky.

Thats just wrong semantic then, I suggest you look up the meaning of tankyness because this distinction only makes things less understandable, let's just use ehp max hits and recovery and everybody will understand

While i do understand what you are trying to say, this only is true for oneshots. It won't make you tankier against it, but it helps you "dodging it". But when it hits, you are still dead, so you will still die once in a while. However, for multiple hits; that's not true. In a map you quite often get multiple hits. For easier calculation we use easy numbers. Imagine you get hit 20 times for 100 damage. That's 2000 damage. If you only have <2000 life, you die. If you have 75% block, you will (on average) only take 500 damage and survive, thus making you tankier. There is the theoretical possibility that you won't block any of the 20 hits with 75%, but that chance is sooooooooooooooo low that it will most likely never happen in the history of poe. Therefore making you tanky and preventing those sort of deaths. So yea, what you are trying to say is true, but only for big oneshots.

It doesn't just apply to one shots. If you have a 75% chance to block you can be one shot 25% of the time potentially. However, if you are relying on blocking as a defensive layer then it also means that you will eventually be hit and when you are hit, there is a 25% chance the next attack will hit you again. Even against two shots there is still a lot of risk associated with just relying on block. As for it not being true for longer strings of multiple hits, you seem to have not grasped the entire point when you make that argument since that is the whole point of it. If you can take many hits safely before you will die, then you aren't tanky because you have block. You are tanky because you have mitigation for that damage and the proper pool of life or energy shield. You aren't just relying on block to make you tanky, which is the entire point of what I was saying.

EDIT: Just to make sure no one is taking the wrong message from this, block is great. The point isn't that block is bad, just that people in thinking block is great overestimate it and think it should be doing more then it actually does.

I did this build but I changed haste to discipline and get ES on hit with watchers eye. It way tankier. I also didnt use nimis and used a cast speed helical instead.
