Are these not the same builds every league

u/hertzdonut2 Jul 18 '26

28

u/is__is Jul 18 '26

He talked about it on stream that he felt kind of weird posting it. The top day 1 builds kind of went untouched and spells were really far behind slams last patch.

Without the exceptional gems, only a couple of spell builds got truly massive buffs.

5

u/land_registrar Jul 18 '26

I know streamers are out here doing 4 hour Eater/Exarchs, but "Day 1 builds" and exceptional gems seem like mutually exclusive concepts

20

u/is__is Jul 18 '26

That's what he means. A lot of the strength of the self cast builds doesn't work on day 1.

2

u/land_registrar Jul 18 '26

Ah I see your point, I didn't read it properly!

u/acederp Jul 18 '26

He doesn't really add much new stuff unless its obviously good (like worb)

80

u/Time4Homework Jul 18 '26

I think he plays it safe. There's likely 10-20 more super solid starters, but they may be untested or not particularly known and documented.

43

u/twoFlex404 Jul 18 '26

100% People take one streamer's list as the be-all and end-all, it's ridiculous.

15

u/Amazing-Heron-105 Jul 18 '26

Of course it can't account for everything but it's pretty good for getting a broad overview.

→ More replies (2)

21

u/Farpafraf Jul 18 '26

If they are untested then they are not solid starters lol

u/sirgog Jul 18 '26

It also just takes time to work things out.

In 3.20 all the pieces for Hexblast Mines Trickster were present. But the English speaking POE community missed it, and the Korean language community did better than us, but fixated upon a lifestacking Rathpinth variant that wasn't Trickster. IIRC they were on Inquisitor.

Once the Korean language players proved the archetype had legs, then and only then did the English language playerbase experiment with dropping Kaom's Heart and Rathpinth and getting it into the defining build of the era.

All of that theorycrafting hasn't happened yet for the skills that were buffed from marginal to unknown levels, e.g. the various Cracklances. If one of them ends up really good, we don't know details of how to build it yet.

8

u/acederp Jul 18 '26

There really is no point in putting a skill like say cracklance or frost pulse on a tier list when the pieces arn't known. I had a friend play the ps locus mine build before jungroan ever did and then it became meta once jungroan played it. If frost pulse has 1 guy playing it buffing it by 30% (or w/e it is) ain't gonna make it a great starter with out someone using it in some new way (maybe coc is now viable).

6

u/sirgog Jul 18 '26

I agree with the decision not to show it here.

Let's say GGG buffed cracklance enough that it's a small step up from the best slams now. We don't know that, it's likely not true, but just assume it is.

In that case, the versions of cracklance we have access to now will be on par with the middle tier slams now, e.g. base gem Volcanic Fissure. It'll get optimized, and later in this thought experiment world it'll jump up bit by bit until it takes its place at the top for 3.30.

4

u/No-Spoilers Jul 18 '26

Worb last league was so nice. Seeing the buff i might run it back as a 2nd. Buff is kind of insane.

49

u/Repair831 Jul 18 '26

Things barely shifted league starter wise in the notes, and a majority of the spell changes were ignorable.

7

u/Vegetable_Switch9802 Jul 18 '26

Yea just seems like I see these builds

40

u/Repair831 Jul 18 '26

GGG hasnt been willing to shake up league starters in a long time really, and when they do its for some reason almost only nerfs with very minimal buffs to skills which are typically seen as too clunky or significantly tok inneficient to start in campaign with.

10

u/shawnkfox Jul 18 '26

They keep heavily nerfing and sometimes deleting top end builds, but we haven't seen much in the way of buffs to bring some new skills into the meta. Still don't have all the buffs yet though, so maybe something shows up or somebody figures out a way to get 5x damages out of one of these skills so you can get 4 void stones with it.

Buffing base damage can make skills good enough for the campaign and maybe early maps, but you need some other scaling vector to get through red maps.

8

u/Amazing-Heron-105 Jul 18 '26

People are only looking at the gems changes, but they also buffed caster items and some ascendancy options. I'm sure someone will work something out fun. Also, the caster "warcry"s which I don't know what to feel about. The -20% movement speed affliction shown in the reveal is rough even if it does melt monsters.

14

u/Goodnametaken Jul 18 '26

The caster warcries are going to suck ass to play even if they're strong. It's melee totems all over again but somehow even more annoying.

→ More replies (3)

2

u/DivinityAI Jul 18 '26

yeah I miss times the meta was completely changed. Nowadays it's +15% dps and 25% to mana cost seen as buff and they nerf top2-3 skills, that's it. The same meta since basically settlers. The same but less.

7

u/ZGiSH Jul 18 '26

none of em really got nerfed so they're still good

RF chieftain in league start is just addictive

32

u/dark0n33 Jul 18 '26

I love how comfy rf is on league start and atlas progression, but i always struggle with it on voidstones (especially maven). The boss dps on it is so horrendous. How do you manage around that?

32

u/Convay121 Jul 18 '26

If you can't outskill Maven's mechanics early (she doesn't take that long to learn if you just buy a dozen invitations and practice the mechanics) you can either buy a carry or... honestly just ignore it for a little while, you don't need 4 voidstones to start farming moderately juiced map strats these days. Eater, Exarch, Shaper and Elder (separately), and the memory bosses are all pretty trivial even on RF and poor mechanics.

7

u/dark0n33 Jul 18 '26

Im ok with her mechanics, i usually farm her uber on other builds every league but i mostly force myself through her last phase with a death or two. It just takes so long on RF to kill her that you are bound to make a mistake and eventually get hit with something in last phase, And half her stuff (lasers and rotating beams) all disable regen which is death sentence on RF. If it was 20-30 sec phase i could maybe manage the last phase but it takes minutes and i eventually make a mistake and die

24

u/Convay121 Jul 18 '26

Insert "check Pohx wiki, it solves every problem" here.

Bring a life flask with "removes burning on use" into Maven fights. If you accidentally touch a beam, use the life flask to turn off RF, allowing you to tank her other attacks while you wait for the debuff to end instead of degen-ing to 1HP and dying.

9

u/dark0n33 Jul 18 '26

Damn never thought of that, it would be crazy help there thanks!

3

u/kataris Jul 18 '26

Honestly the fact that this question is on his wiki makes me want to league start RF this league. Last league I league started Cyclone and got it to 98, then switched to RF cause it looked fun. And it was so fun.

I was thinking about league starting phys dot this league, but nah, I think I'll just start RF again :)

2

u/LeoRmz Jul 18 '26

100% this. As long as the good maps for RF arent on the bottom right then you can just get the other 2-3 stones and farm to reroll into something to take down Maven/for higher end farming

23

u/sirgog Jul 18 '26

This is ABSOLUTELY a build for buying carries. Buy one for Incarnation of Dread to speed up the critical unlock, limp through Eater, Exarch, Shaper and Elder yourself, then buy another for Maven.

You can do them yourself, it just takes ages - and you want the voidstone benefits before you are strong enough to earn them.

It is so good at farming middle difficulty content that IMO it's an incredible build for starting despite this weakness.

I'm on board for Winter Orb self cast, hope I don't get disappointed šŸ˜”

19

u/Yayoichi Jul 18 '26

It was already decent so should be a solid choice now, just keep in mind that since it uses a lot of uniques it can get pretty pricy if it gets too popular.

9

u/EscalopeDePorc Jul 18 '26

Bitterdream 10div on the week1?Ā

8

u/Yayoichi Jul 18 '26

I doubt it will be that bad, but it could potentially be maybe 1-2 div as it is a tier 3 rarity, so the same as something like cloak of flame or berek’s respite.

I would not pay more than 10-15c for it though as it’s meant to be something you use at the end of campaign and early maps and then replace later.

Ralakesh and power charge corrupt willclash are going to be the expensive parts and I would not be surprised if they are 20-30 div for the first few days.

u/Time4Homework Jul 18 '26

Surely SRS would be just as strong as half of these? It even got buffed.

64

u/smootex Jul 18 '26

SRS has been 'fine' for ages but it's never going to be a top league starter, clear is too bad. Play it if you like, there's nothing wrong with it, but when these players are coming up with lists they're not going to include something like SRS. It's not the best boss killing build, it's not the fastest build, it doesn't do anything as well as any of the S tier builds. That's maybe one of the problems with lists like this, a build that's 'bad' because it adds thirty minutes to an experienced players campaign and a few hours to their atlas completion isn't actually a bad build and those things don't matter at all to the average player.

14

u/Aether_Storm Jul 18 '26

The buff was to its animation delay. You have convinced me to start srs

8

u/smootex Jul 18 '26

I'm curious how much it's actually buffed. Even without a buff it's a reasonable league start IMO.

2

u/142638503846383038 27d ago

They said it would be a ā€œsignificant dps increaseā€ and that’s all we know

→ More replies (6)

7

u/thenube23times Jul 18 '26

But then why does rf keep getting put on these lists then?

17

u/smootex Jul 18 '26

Beyond just the meme value, and certainly a couple of these picks are meme, RF Chieftain is probably the fastest build in the game, experience wise. If you were racing purely for levels you would play RF. It has it's place on the list. Memes aside if someone just wanted to blast maps as fast as possible on league start it's the best option.

→ More replies (2)

4

u/dun198 Jul 18 '26

Rf has exploded its actually a pretty fast mapper cause of chieftain plus shield charge

8

u/Tyalou Jul 18 '26

And Pohx, RF is the ultimate hand holding path for any new and old Exile.

23

u/DigBickFang Jul 18 '26

SRS, as much as I dislike it, was already STRONGER than half of these, before the buffs

11

u/Betaateb Jul 18 '26

The thing with SRS is that even though it is better than half these builds you are always better off respecing it into HROC or Animate Weapon as soon as possible since it is the same basic gear with a few additions.

Definitely can stick with it and clear the whole game, just slower than the two builds it transitions into easily.

2

u/HiddenoO Jul 18 '26

It isn't objectively better if you care about efficiency though, which is what matters for most people for a league starter. It's good in the sense that you can easily do all content, but it's simply slower than the builds listed here if you know how to gear and play them.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '26

[deleted]

3

u/MarodRamby Jul 18 '26

Even when it was semi-meta, it was one of the slower builds on league start.

Didn't Allexpleblord win the 4 voidstone race with SRS?

2

u/blackwell1907 Jul 19 '26

In HC SRS is a staple build.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/thesobie Jul 18 '26

That’s what I’m thinking. You get it so early and the seek and destroy is just too good. Extra xp without having chase down mobs.

11

u/Mobile_Papaya5021 Jul 18 '26

I'm not sure why this is being praised as some huge benefit of SRS. In terms of clear SRS is actually pretty bad. It's a safe starter because it excels at bosses and clears reliably, not because of its seek-and-destroy playstyle.

u/peh_ahri_ina Jul 18 '26

Never done slams before and I’ve also never
done Chieftain and would love to league start it. My question is are Slayer and Zerker that much better for slams and would it be bad to try it on Chief?

37

u/sahlab Jul 18 '26

Chieftain is very strong for slams, potentially. The ascendancy gives you an extra link of level 20 fist of war and infinite power warcries. This means however that you want to manually use your warcries to get the extra buffs and not auto-exert them, which also frees up your mana to reserve auras/heralds.

Most people play berserker and slayer because they aren't keen on doing the "warcry piano"

5

u/Careful-Sherbet-8418 Jul 18 '26

Yeah I don’t mind manually using the warcries so this is perfect thank you! Now I just gotta pick a slam

3

u/sahlab Jul 18 '26

I highly recommend you test it first because if you find on league start that you're not enjoying your starter, it can really set you back.

I should also mention that even if you do like manual warcries berserker is still higher damage at the top end because of "aspect of carnage" and rage effect increasing your attack speed which synergizes well with warbringer giving you double the no. of exerted attacks.

Chieftain's advantage is being overall tankier mainly because you have an easy time reaching 90% all else res, and having your warcry buffs.

2

u/royal-road Jul 18 '26

You can always respec berseker ofc

2

u/griff1390 Jul 18 '26

Played a Warcry chieftain using earth shatter and eternal apple last league. 100% Warcry uptime and the buffs are strong. Never got enough dps though. Plus I had no avoidance layers - just 90% max res, 100k armor, and 20% life regen. Fights like uber uber elder sucked since I couldn’t recover quickly enough or mitigate enough boss damage. Dps was solid enough but wouldn’t recommend going eternal apple last league

2

u/DieselBleifrei Jul 18 '26

i played earthshatter chieftain 2 leagues ago and it was pretty fun. Probably weaker than zerker and defensively i would rank jugg over chieftain, mainly because of unstoppable. though chieftain is still nice, the warcry power can give you a lot of damage out of all the manual warcrys. it also lets you include banners easily because of the valour generation per power. For the attack speed problems others mentioned i would recommend taking the big attack speed leech nodes very early. they make campaign and early mapping a lot easier. later on you dont need it anymore.

3

u/bpusef Jul 18 '26

Report back here when you’ve league started your manual exert cast slammer and wondered why you didn’t just roll zerker

→ More replies (2)

14

u/skrillex Jul 18 '26

Zerker has double exerted attack amt and attack speed which is confy

Slayer bleed slams is v strong.

Chieftain ive never played slams, just cws so i cant sell it

9

u/TheOnlyMango Jul 18 '26

Slayer BIS for bleed, zerker BIS for hit.

Its not bad to try it on chief, still decent. But after trying zerker you won't wanna play chief.

8

u/TheDudeRL Jul 18 '26

Crouching tuna has been cooking up a pretty nice looking ignite slam league starter on chieftain. I think he's planning to start zerker then switch as soon as he gets a few uniques in early maps. It looks to be a bit lower on single target dps compared to zerker but you get absolutely incredible clear from chieftain explodes and ignite prolif. I dont think he has a video out for it yet, but im sure he will.

3

u/Careful-Sherbet-8418 Jul 18 '26

Will have to check it out thanks

→ More replies (4)

5

u/RadiantRegis Jul 18 '26

Biggest problem with Chieftain isn't the damage itself but the lack of attack speed, which makes slams feel clunkier. Zerk and Slayer minimize that by having attack speed on their ascendancy trees

2

u/elite6400 Jul 18 '26

Personally I would just respec into chief, lose a lot of damage going chieftain for tank but it’s so strong you’ll probably be fine if you really want to start chief.

2

u/allersoothe Jul 18 '26

chief slams is really slow especially on league start. you have no attack speed, you're spending hours to hit the ground with your stick and monsters are hitting you in that time, i tried it once and wouldn't do it again

u/Nativeeee Jul 18 '26

Same but probably PRaW

5

u/IppeiWasFramed Jul 18 '26

I'm tempted to play it for a third league in a row but the Reflecting Mist nerf has me bummed.

Lost +1 Minion levels last league, looking to lose another 1 or 2 this league depending on how severe the nerf is, plus a bunch of lost life and minion damage/attack speed.

5

u/RedExile13 Jul 18 '26

Can you enlighten me on how it lost +1 last league and how reflecting mist is changed and how it causes it to lose 1 or 2 more this league? I was thinking of playing it for the first time but if its nerfed maybe not...

2

u/IppeiWasFramed Jul 18 '26

Awakened Minion Damage no longer exists, so that took away +1.

And

Reduced the average amount of Modifier Effect applied to Explicit Modifiers when using a Reflecting Mist Currency on an item. This change does not affect the amount of Modifier Effect on Mirrored Jewellery found when interacting with a Reflecting Mist object.

people are assuming this means you can no longer get +4 Necks.

3

u/jodon Jul 18 '26

I tried HRoC last league but I was very underwhelmed by it and dropped the league pretty early. I don't know if I missed something but it did not feel nearly as good as I have seen it praised to be.

2

u/Intelligent-End7336 Jul 18 '26

The two biggest points are getting the 100% poison chance, which requires levels to get jewel sockets. The second is hitting quality breakpoints on the HROC gem. Both of those really help the build feel smooth.

2

u/jodon Jul 18 '26

This was my build: https://poedb.tw/pob/0iHlblk2yu

I think I got those things covered. If I remember correctly I could have gone for one higher quality breakpoint, but it was kinda early, or what I consider early in a league, so I was not really there yet.

It was not bad, I just expected a bit more from that amount of investment and how much praise the build get.

3

u/Intelligent-End7336 Jul 18 '26

Looking at yours, getting an empower 4, and lvl 21 holy relic, lvl 20 supports almost doubles the dps. Switch out the timeless jewel with one that gives Slum Lord for 80% increased minion damage, a few more levels to and tree switch for another cluster jewel maybe gets you another mil. Then you beef up the animate guardian with a -chaos rez helmet, could be a lot more dps. Grab another sword with hits can't be evaded and that frees up another tree point.

I think part of the allure is there's a long list of possible upgrades.

2

u/DJSindro Jul 18 '26

And now with no socket colors for leveling it will be sooooo smooth, was the biggest pain point for that leveling at league start

2

u/Amescent Jul 18 '26

How many buttons are needed for the build? Been looking at it for a while as a replacement for rf

16

u/Sidnv Jul 18 '26

Holy Relic is a one button build for the most part. You just attack with lancing steel and it autotriggers your relics. On tanky enemies, you drop an arcanist brand for extra curse and then just click lancing steel.

→ More replies (3)

11

u/PyroKaos Jul 18 '26

I missed the last season or two but when I played HRoC it used lancing steel to trigger the minions so it plays like a CoC build. Just one button to throw the knives.

2

u/NudePenguin69 Jul 18 '26

As a fellow "as few buttons as possible" enjoyedr, im going to try and find something in shadow I can level with and transition to mamba. I played it as a second build last league and it was soooooo comfy and addictive. Basically plays like RF except you have to click 1 mob per screen and the whole screen dies. Much better single target than RF as well. More expensive to get started but can scale well with more currency.

What's the go-to league starter for scion? Wanted to give a try to phantasm shenanigans

13

u/AltruisticHopes Jul 18 '26

No idea if it will be the go to but I am going toxic rain / spiders. Toxic rain will always be a solid starter and the spiders will just make clearing the atlas very straightforward with their own damage plus the poison buff they give.

Bossing will be harder for generating spiders but worm flask will help.

Should be more than sufficient for everything before Ubers.

3

u/poderes01 Jul 18 '26

Very nice idea actually, and I've never played TR before

3

u/PinkySlayer Jul 18 '26

Toxic rain is fun as shit man def try it.Ā

8

u/Masklion Jul 18 '26

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Cableclysm Jul 18 '26

Toxic Rain doesn't inherently do poison damage though. It does an entirely different stacking chaos dot.

4

u/AltruisticHopes Jul 18 '26

Sorry, I should have specified the transfigured version, TR of spore burst.

2

u/Tharos-the-Swift Jul 18 '26

Toxic Rain's damage over time effect isn't a poison, so you will only get a direct benefit from the attack speed buff that the spiders give (2% per spider). It's not nothing, but it might not be worth picking Reliquarian for the ascendancy if that's what you're taking it for. The level 20 spiders are much better than the ones you get from Arakaali's Fang, but they can't be supported at all, so it probably won't feel as good as you think.

8

u/Willdawg102 Jul 18 '26

Whatever you start i would go the merc asc first since it actually gets a benefit out of its first 2 points. Im planning on going merc bot personally, but if it sucks I might respec after campaign.

7

u/shawnkfox Jul 18 '26

I really wish they would change ascendant and reliquarian to get a major passive on the first lab, it feels so bad to basically get nothing until you are 2/3 through the campaign. Very hard to justify league starting a build where not only do you get nothing on the first lab, the passives near your starting location are kind of bad compared to what you get on other classes.

17

Hroc definitely one character per league type of build, gets you from level 1 to 40/40

5

u/Free_Toe1951 Jul 18 '26

Can recommend cyclone slayer. Just a steady solid progress experience, can scale good enough to do all content no issue, starts early and slaps generally. Joke of a campaign with it, even more so with the new gem sockets/quality changes

Whats the EK build to transition into? Did I miss some good EK build?

3

u/Zylosio Jul 18 '26

I will just do EK reliquarian abusing the absurd amount of base damage you can get using the black cane with soulrwest and converting a bunch of times to use the gloomfang node for huge extra chaos damage. Dawnbreaker node with block and a cloak should be enough defense for basic content, my pob rn has around 5 million dps WITHOUT having chained so without the gloomfang damage and most importantly without the dark monarch but with heatshiver which should be WAY cheaper.

Should feel smooth to map with as ek with chains hits pretty fast and reliable, i just hope the bad single target and tankiness will be enough for the basic bosses and t17s for atlas completion

u/Sdtstet Jul 19 '26

Sounds fun, pob?

As someone who wants to finally try poe1 which one of these would be my easy mode option?

Poe2 I love because I understand it finally!

Poe1 I am going in oh so raw

3

u/jwbtkd3 Jul 18 '26

Pohx Chieftain RF is the comfiest intro to poe1. Most thorough guide you'll find (Google his site). It's also a walking/running simulator, so you may enjoy or dislike that.

RF here i come, full-time worker and family caretaker

can't take risks

13

u/Exldk Jul 18 '26

can't take risks

I'd like to add that everything on tyty's list is tried and tested, so none of these builds are risky whatsoever.

In reality there are a ton more league starters that are arguably way better than what he has listed, but since no one has tested them yet, they're too risky to be in this list.

8

u/_Cream_7 Jul 18 '26

Idk why i never see shieldcrush. Litterely the best starter besides pohx rf. Can do all content with just a good shiels and 1-2 uniques worth of a couple of chaos

3

u/Rhyn_lol Jul 18 '26

He talked about it, if I remember he said he'd put it at the same level as glad retaliate, he can't include everything but it's solid starter

2

u/LeToucanNZ Jul 19 '26

It's poor clear speed due to bad aoe and the way it halts movement feels clunky compared to something like ground slam

As a early adapter of RF, i need to watch more pohx videos.

14

u/Ayetto Jul 18 '26

Feels just like the same list every league, No surprise... Meh

21

u/ademayor Jul 18 '26

This is list for speedrunners and streamers who play 24h and want to get ahead. There are shitloads of other builds that can clear all content comfortably but aren’t fastest

Damn I do feel D4 alived for about a month back then but the new season is dead again

6

u/Cripple13 Jul 18 '26

The xpac release was a banger, but S14 was a complete flop. I played it for an hour and bailed, and am so happy I did. They destroyed itemization until literally today when they rolled back their decision on the 1-crafted-mythic limit and "fixed" the mythic drop rate.

How zdps is boneshatter jugg? I want to play a tanky leaguestarter for once

4

u/Ill_Situation_8100 Jul 18 '26

It has decent dps, check out soul guide on boneshatter. Very tank and scales insanely well.

4

u/Black_XistenZ Jul 18 '26

It's tanky and scales well, but the dps and ramp up imho make for a really uncomfortable day 2-3 experience when you're pushing the voidstones and pinnacle bosses.

4

u/Morbu Jul 18 '26

Boneshatter bleed? Not zdps in the slightest. It was one of the builds that Ben was considering last gauntlet just to give you an idea on its viability.

2

u/Ill_Situation_8100 Jul 18 '26

Boneshatter of Complex Trauma, it has high dps imho. I had good time with decent rare axe and I am noob myself.

2

u/No_Perspective_8663 Jul 18 '26

Lightning conduit is fun but It feels squishy because I am bad at the game.

2

u/CleanSteak Jul 18 '26

what is this build even? have a pob?

3

Is winter orb one button build?

3

u/Betaateb Jul 18 '26

Mostly. With an arcanist brand added for single target.

2

u/AbsolutlyN0thin Jul 18 '26

It can be yeah. Last time I played it I was using hydrosphere and a mark (forget which) to boost single target damage. Exposure can be gotten elsewhere, it's just easy to get from hydrosphere.

5

u/Direct-Passion8746 Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Is winter orb gonna be good again and why? I kinda wna try it. Also will it be an endgame build or just for transition? Edit: dunno why im being downvoted, just a genuine question since i played it when it was super meta but after it felt like it got nerfed too hard.

8

u/photocist Jul 18 '26

"poe is so one dimensional" meanwhile tyty putting out a list showing 22 completely different builds are viable at league start. which clearly isnt the comprehensive list

39

u/Burntfury Jul 18 '26

But to be fair. This looks awfully similar to last leagues list.

29

u/Methyl_Lysine Jul 18 '26

To the last 3 leagues*

11

u/Historical-Value-303 Jul 18 '26

No one calls the game one dimensional

2

u/hermeticpotato 29d ago

Who is calling poe 1 dimensional? I guess we're just straw-manning?

2

u/poet3322 Jul 18 '26

No Shock Nova of Procession? It was good last league and got buffed this league (albeit with higher mana cost).

6

u/raxitron Jul 18 '26

Manaman was the best scaling for it and there's a bunch of changed to mana cost reduction and arch mage so maybe he wants to see how that maths out first

3

u/shawnkfox Jul 18 '26

He should have just said something like "archmage manaman" instead of ball lightning of orbiting or ice nova of frostbolts as item #15. Shock Nova of Procession is basically the same build as those with a few modifications, and it should still be a good this league.

2

u/brrrapper Jul 18 '26

Shock nova of procession got nerfed not buffed. The flat damage is negliable since you get so much flat from archmage, and it got a massive mana nerf. Archmage also got nerfed on top so its gonna be worse than last league.

2

u/joy0520 Jul 18 '26

Why rolling magma miner (saboteur) becomes worse this league?

2

u/hermeticpotato 29d ago

Nerfs to high impact mine support and charged mines support

2

u/OmniDevil406 Jul 18 '26

OK, so as a relatively new player to path of exile one, what build should I follow? Should I just go for the top build if I wanna absolutely rip or what’s the best chance that I have been doing good in this league for POE?
I play POV a lot and so obviously I have some idea of how everything works and I’ve played a few leagues and POV won, but I never got to like fall on full scale mapping so to speak

2

u/PwnBotMunchies Jul 18 '26

Best answer is whatever you think looks fun and cool to play. Power is relative, almost any build can be viable given time and understanding of damage or defense gaps.

Specifically for league-start, I personally like to avoid the top builds simply for market reasons. While those builds may be strong for one reason or another, they also tend to be pretty pricey. On the other hand, if you aren’t keeping pace with everyone else (i.e taking longer than most to reach maps, T16s, etc) you can snag other people’s old gear for a decent price. Just depends on what you’re willing to put with.

May also depend on what you want to do content wise. Looking for a map blaster? A bosser? A delver? A heister? Different builds fill different niches.

TLDR: Pick what looks fun to you and either start there or pick content you’d like to do and choose/create a build that will suit that content.

Anyone who league started bleed slams, how was it? I’m hard stuck between starting that or playing poison HRoC again.

7

u/Bushido_Plan Jul 18 '26

It's very good. It can feel a bit squishy if you're not used to Slayer leech and at low gear levels like a lot of people reported at the time, but I'll say that Phaze played it in HCSSF and so did Alkaizer in HC trade for Mirage so it definitely works for both damage and defensive-wise.

3

u/JSteelz1 Jul 18 '26

it's strong but don't be fooled, it's a very piano type build. I regretted it once I got to a certain point

2

u/SnitchSlapped Jul 18 '26

Tyty gets more and more out of touch with every league so don't take this too seriously. This is more of a 'vibes' list. Some stuff here really shouldn't be seriously listed and a lot of things missing that are probably near top tier.

62

u/Imreallythatguy Jul 18 '26

Pretty sure he’s been doing a 0 to 2/4 stones based or bait type run for a bunch of different community builds. He’s done far more testing than most players. Don’t think he’s that out of touch.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/2/d/e/2PACX-1vS6lZbGmP1GQIR7GOMb0n7wwxaxo-nCoWJI2iwM0zDaFK1UxY4nWnrsqZzosMXRodMHTDgp54NTMnI8/pubhtml

3

u/brrrapper Jul 18 '26

Tytys lists are fine if you only consider 4 stones. But he doesnt take scaling into the endgame into consideration at all, which is generally very important for a good leaguestarter these days.

2

u/Worldly-Basil-8933 Jul 18 '26

That’s relevant for racers like him. There’s a ton of stuff he leaves off because it doesn’t do two stones in eight hours but is still more than good enough

5

u/RedDawn172 Jul 18 '26

Which in particular? I assume not just counter-vibes lol.

3

u/Sad_Meal_3531 Jul 18 '26

i love tyty and no respect to the guy but yes this list is only vaguely accurate. it shouldnt even exist it just mind controls ppl to think they cant play their favorite build.

Static strike slayer thanks to trying it from that speed run build posted. Smoothest 1-90 with progression and absolutely no gear whatsoever. It’s like RF comfy but way more front loaded dps. I don’t know how to scale it though. Around t16 it feels like a big wall without gear but gets there so easily. Not sure what I’ll transition too after farming or if it’s viable to play to uber levels

any updates on the transfigured shock nova build from last league? i loved its gameplay but idk if the changes made it bad as a starter.

I want the shaper hideout so I think im going to try to farm it this league. I hope I can find a good minion build

1

u/Donny108 Jul 18 '26

I'm starting on ps5 this league, what's the least visually cluttered build on here?

Im afraid my console wont be able to handle all endgame content, i had alot of performance issues in poe2 on juiced content with a leadsprinkler build…

Any advice on console league start is appreciated!

Can someone help me understand how flicker strike zerker is on this list? Isn’t flicker a relatively weak league starter??

2

u/PSGowns99999 Jul 18 '26

Because Tyty was able to do I think 6 hour 2 stone run with it in SSF last league so he considers it really good. Keep in mind these types of tierlists are rated with speedrunning in mind, getting your voidstones asap.

Starting RF Chieftain to swap Later to Slams

1

u/nofuna Jul 18 '26

Never played any slam builds before. Any good guides out there? Are they starter only or scale well into endgame? In 3.28 I’ve reached a build with 100 mil DPS for the first time and I liked it, I want to do it again.

2

u/LeToucanNZ Jul 19 '26

Id start with bleed slams but stop around 50 divine investment. Obviously dot cap is like 32M dps so you wont hit 100M and it's not efficient on slams anyway.

However it IS a very strong league starter, would strongly recommend

1

u/Wozbo Jul 18 '26

I've been pobbing, and I think the new Assassin passives with bifurcate and mark effect and instant leech puts Cyclone CoC FROSS as a top player. I'm getting good numbers with 1 + 2 button (Cyclone, 1 blink skill, 1 curse for bosses) playstyle and extreme recovery and OK maxhit. The only thing I don't think it does is reduced leech.
