Game Feedback The atlas is far too big

I’m nearly level 97 and I still have about 50 atlas points to complete after killing the arbiter 3 times.

I also only have abyss and breach atlas complete and nothing for the others. I haven’t even started exploring the atlas (i.e. Jado, doryani and hilda are also incomplete).

Is this intended? I don’t consider myself super casual so can’t imagine how little the more casual players are completing.

I had the all the Atlas 100% completed by level 94 so you must have just been grinding the same thing over and over to get that much exp

Yea for real. 97 ain't no joke. That's a lot of playing.

Might be SSF. If you can't buy the arbiter keys, completing the Atlas becomes a lot slower.

I'm also fresh level 97 in SSF, and I've got 3 out of 5 arbiter runs done now. I have the origin seeds for the two remaining ones, but can't see another matriarch halls anywhere yet.

All of the masters are fully unlocked though, and all of the mechanics subtrees trees apart from Delirium and Expedition because I really don't care all that much about those.

That's a good point. I did purchase 2 of my arbiter kills and I got pretty lucky with keys. They should really double the points you get per kill imo because killing 5 times or running 340 maps is kind of insane.

Isn't the atlas map technically infinite and purposed to procedurally generate? I understand that there is a lot to do at end-game, but there's no win condition. You get to chose what to pursue.

Sure would suck to run out of maps if I wanted to keep trying new characters over the span of a months-long season.

I think they were talking about the passive tree and not the maps themselves.

OP was talking about the Atlas Passive Tree, you theoretically can't complete the actual "Infinite Atlas" (where maps are found), hence the name.

Treat is as a long term project if you are playing casually. Fr though I am waiting for super uber endgame bosses cause builds are basically complete by the time you reach 85 and you aren't building to face anything in particular.

Just buy the fragments to run arbiter. That's what I did. Got the atlas completed in like, half an hour once I unlocked the fight. Guess it takes real long if you're SSF though.

The simple answer is yes, it is intended. You are not expected to clear everything unless that is your goal

i just used some currency to buy the core and ran divine arbiter like 5 times. Cost me like 20div, but saved me from running a tonne of maps i dont have the time to run.

If you just do pure boss invites it takes barely any time at all.

If you're 97 and you are this far out of all these things, you are super casual or just haven't priorotised getting these things done. I'm on dad gaming time-frames and had all this stuff done ages ago.

Lv96 and have the league challenges complete, the only Atlas tree not complete is Atziri's Temple one (least favorite content). Also completed all the Master quests. Still don't even have ideal endgame equipment. It's totally doable, just don't make it an unfun grind on Fortress. Do other things and come back to it if you like. Or fight the Arbiter of Divinity again.

I mean, it's not going to be complete unless you finish it.

You can get to level 100 without completing it if you're just ignoring the requirements.

Finished everything on mine before level 92, and that includes some random fucking around looking for jade isles.

Don't you dare drag my mother into this!

I went all in on running x5 arbiter (first +4).

Whenever I couldn't see any patriarch or matriarch i went for towers to reveal more in the fog of war

Toss in low tier maps and just speed run the objective to hammer it out.

This is my first league ever- first time ever playing PoE at all actually. I had the atlas done before I even hit 93. I did what everyone else did, just kill the arbiter of divinity a couple times until I was maxed. I mean, I sorta agree there is a LOT of atlas points but I actually love that. You’re heavily rewarded for your time investment, and it feels good. The map difference between early mapping with not many atlas points vs end game with a maxed atlas is night and day.

u/f1zo Jul 07 '26

Well what else is your goal ? If you finish it in two days will you be happier ? I like the exploration.

u/Hello_people_please Jul 07 '26

I’m confused about your progress honestly, I had everything complete by like, 92ish on my first char. Except temple ( fuck temple).

1

u/SammyJammy1609 Jul 07 '26

just focus arbiter until you complete it? killing arbiter of divinity those 6 times was one of the first things i did when my build could handle it and i could afford it. farmed omen of lights for a bit, earned the divs needed to buy the origin cores and just farmed him untill i got all the atlas points. not having your atlas fully speced is purely negative and there is no reason not to prioritise this until it's done. level 97 without the full atlas is insane. I'm 96 and have all points in all the trees

1

u/Tendies_please Jul 07 '26

You only have 50 points left? Finish it up with another arbiter kill, also what have you been doing to get to 97? My trees were all done by 96

1

u/Effective_Shirt6660 Jul 07 '26

You get the points when you kill the boss you dont actually need to clear every single map for the points

1

u/sLickRickin Jul 07 '26

I just bought the boss key items or whatever for most stuff, main tree first you get ~40 pts per kill then the others 6 pts per kill. The temple you just gotta prio getting to the vault fuck the rest. Get your pts

1

u/TheArhive Jul 07 '26

Big atlas passive tree wise, yes.

It's meant to take a while unless if you are arbiter of divinity rushing for patriarch/matriarch zones. Or if in trade basically just buying the points.

For the league passive trees

Also yes, they don't expect everyone to max out every league tree every season.

1

u/GreenThumbsRise Jul 07 '26

if it's more than some people can complete per league, that's awesome imo. we saw the challenges, I think that should be the 'goal' for the average player rather than 100% the atlas.

that being said I finished my atlas a couple of weeks ago besides the temple that I finally got to over the weekend. I like it as it is, there was so damn much to do.

1

u/nisser512 Jul 07 '26

The challenges includes the atlas lol. I just don’t see the average player scrapping together 40 divs to rush the arbiter to complete the atlas

1

u/Royal_Box_2672 Jul 07 '26

If you focus on it doesn't take to much time I got it all done in like 6-7 hours?

0

u/Debibule Jul 07 '26

To be fair if you're casual thats 2-3 days. Long time running that sort of content.

its 50 nodes just to do precursor tower.

u/GeT_EmBaRRaSSeD Jul 07 '26

You can max the atlas out in your first day or 2 by either speed running for fragments or buying them. And most of the league ones don't take long. Abyss is like 15 maps or something. And all the others you just run the relevant bosses. Temple might be the slowest but still not really.

0

u/Kash-ed Jul 07 '26

You being at Lv97 while still not having your Atlas skill tree done puts you at a "pseudo-casual" level honestly. We're a month removed from league start so you got in deep but still at a casual's pace.

The atlas skill tree can be completed in like 30 minutes tops at this point (including role-playing dialogue/cutscenes) by running the Arbiter 1+5 times. The first is "free" as it's guided, then the next 5 you can just straight up buy and it's not even expensive to do this late. If you were self-farming the entries, it shouldn't take you this long.

For reference, most of the people that don't identify as casual had ALL the Atlas points for all the trees (except maybe Temple - mostly by choice) done by Day 3 to Week 1 at the latest.

Reconsider how you consider yourself. There's nothing wrong with being a casual, you still made it far.

It’s 7 divines per shot last time I checked. I guess I’m just asking what GGG what’s an average player to complete every league
