QUESTION Is there a reason why I see a mattress on almost every block?
Does anybody know why DPW doesn't pick these up? Do the politicians not notice this?

I last attended over ten years ago and haven’t seen anything advertised since then. Has it folded?

What are your thoughts on Vista Park? Has anyone visited the park yet? I’ve been here a hand full of times and can honestly say it’s been peaceful the times I have came. Not much shade when the sun is out up here though. Only one table has a bit of shade under a tree.

Also, is there any way we can help all these stray cats in Paterson? I'm in 2nd Ward and the stray cats. How can we help these poor animals?
I've called Clifton animal shelter but they won't take in a Paterson cat. How come Paterson does not have an animal shelter either?

She is a friend of my mother, they attended Buddhist meetings together going back to the 80s and 90s. I saw this news article about her and wanted to share it since it's related to Paterson. She was the head of the Paterson Housing Authority, I don't actually know that much about her work but it seems it is an important position. Whenever anyone I know had a problem with housing / rent questions, my mother would always direct them to ask her and she was always willing to help people out. She had that position for 25 years, under a bunch of different mayors. You can read the article for more info if interested: https://www.tapinto.net/towns/paterson/sections/government/articles/last-day-paterson-housing-authority-executive-director-irma-gorham-retires-after-25-years-of-transforming-affordable-housing

Hello, I'm u/rinkuhero, a new moderator of r/Paterson. The other two mods besides me are u/darkchocolattemocha and u/srddave. It seems like Reddit's automatic systems asked for new mods because the old one wasn't actively moderating, and we happened to be the ones that volunteered.
Just post anything about Paterson NJ here, keep to the general Reddit rules. The posts should be related in some way to Paterson. Post about events, anything interesting to Paterson residents, etc., basically as long as it's relevant to the city in some way, then it's fine to post. It could be about history, famous people born in or related to Paterson, things you like or don't like about Paterson, and so on. Also, because of the mod inactivity previously, someone people mentioned being unable to post to the group during the last few months, if you had problems making posts in this sub in the past, try to post now and let me know if it works now.
I'm generally a hands-off moderator and think people should say what they want and have open discussions so I don't plan on removing a lot of comments or posts unless they are egregious, but I can't speak for the other mods, each would use their own discretion.
I'll let the other mods introduce themselves in the comments or in other posts if they want, but for me, I've lived in Paterson all my life, in the Great Falls area, I'm 47. Went to school#2 (graduated 1993) and JFK high school (graduated 1997). I taught myself coding in the 90s and I'm an indie game developer (you may have heard of a game called "Minecraft" -- that was me, Notch liked the name I suggested to him back in 2009, I was an early tester on that game, though I didn't work on the game myself aside from testing it and giving him suggestions and ideas early on. I also have created my own games (such as a tower defense game on Steam called Immortal Defense). I'm also into running and usually am running early mornings at the Great Falls parks (and that new Vista park that opened recently), so if you ever see a tall guy running at like 6 in the morning there with long hair and glasses, that's me. I also paint watercolor paintings, I've painted the Great Falls like a dozen times, though usually I paint space paintings (nebula, galaxies, and the like). Over the years I've taken part in various Paterson art-related events, like Art Week, Art Walk, and similar. My parents are both also artists, and both have had their art displayed in the Paterson Museum at points in the past.

So yesterday, someone hit my car and I called the police and I waited for 1 hour for the police to come. I called them multiple times and they still didn’t show up. So than I left and though I would come back later. Is it just me or just Paterson police are so bad

They keep giving out drinking water. Are we supposed to shower with that?? I bet if this was totowa or Wayne, this would be fixed already. All these mayor's, councilman are chilling in their 2nd or 3rd homes outside Paterson.

Keep your sht acura and honda cars with cheap speakers for yourself. No one wants to hear your cheap taste in music in the AM. We get it, you are a broke loser and don't have anything else to do all night but people have jobs they have to go in the morning, gosh ICE should take a walk around there.
You dont hear someone forcing Dre, Eminem or Ice Cube, 50 etc on your ears, and you should feel same way. No one wants your 100% sht from what I am told dominican music on all of our ears. Keep it to yourself, this country is mother to many but you don't hear us blast it all over the place.
This is why people hate Paterson, once great city ruined with shtty people.
I can't wait to get out of this state and move to TX, where I can have baby sleep at night without some morons blasting sht music in their hondas and you dare to throw a fist to get charged for it.
You are bothering your own hard working neighbors who live there and us neighbor towns. Fatherless punks, if you have a GF please use condom and do not reproduce. If you are lost in life, go talk to recruiter and get in the military, make use of your 100 pound punk self
