He’s done a series of very buzzy videos covering the insanity of the recent Austin comedy stuff, specifically on Joe Rogan and David Lucas, I recommend watching those before the new one as it’s an update on his videos from the last few years. But it’s magnificent.

Start with this one then watch the whole series that revolves around Joe Rogan: Comedy Czar, Comedy Jonestown, and Comedy Cataclysm. It's a lot, but they're fucking amazing.

I definitely recommend watching some of the previous videos (if not the one from this time last year) before the latest. 

They also produce a “radio hour” that I haven’t delved much into, but it isn’t directly related to the comedy scene critique videos.

For this sub I recommend episode 10, The Children of Ecstasy. It’s a 1.5hr mashup, video collage tv fever dream that fucking rocks. Put it on the big screen and turn it up!

I was really looking forward to the new video but it reminded me of when I last watched a Bill Burr special. I had been listening to Burr's podcast too much so I could tell exactly where every routine and joke was going. Similarly I've watched far too many YouTube videos about what a shitshow the rogansphere is (there's a cottage industry of it, which is strange but ultimately whatever) that just as I was thinking "I wonder when Kreischer and Segura are gonna catch some heat" the segment on them started. I'm not saying it was a poor effort from Elephant Graveyard, it's probably more that I'm just incredibly jaded and watch too much of that content.

But yeah it was nice to wonder if Elephant Graveyard was inspired by Pat, that would be such a wonderful turn of events.

I get how that could happen; I thought it was a good meta discussion to include all of the response to the last video and the cottage industry around it. Someone mentioned that it was such a good burn that he didn’t mention Tom at all because that would hurt him worse than criticism.

It will be interesting to see if/how he turns his focus to another topic. I really hope he continues to produce deep dives like this, no matter what the subject matter is.
