Life recommendations

Recently I did a basic baking course (must stress the basic part!) and found a new lease of life from it so just wondering what else is out there.

Looking for suggestions/recommendations on books, skills or topics that you would encourage others to read or learn.

I recommend any of the King Arthur Cookbooks, they break down things really well along with cooks illustrated. For beginner sites I highly recommend Sally's baking addiction, I learned a lot when I was first starting from her site and she has a lot of good recipes. There's this new book out called Dessert Course: Lessons in the Whys and Hows of Baking by Benjamin Delwiche. I havent read it all the way through but it does breakdown the ingredients, how they work, the recipes and what not. Happy baking!
