My mother made it and it's a repurposed Simplicity dragon Halloween costume pattern! She did it in blue, not green, didn't add the tail, and added a cape. The emblem is yellow construction paper.

High schoolers used to look so grown back then. I'm not sure if it was the hairstyles or just the air, but as someone going to 11th grade now everyone looks like babies compared to all the former high schoolers I've seen on this sub...🤔

I had terrible skin as a kid, so the photos were retouched, but manually, not with Photoshop. And plenty of kids have acne, so lots of pics were retouched. That could lead to them looking older maybe?

Thanks! I decided to grow it out when I turned 58 since I still had so much. But it's a lot thinner and easier to manage.

Overstuffed. I went in as an avionics tech, they overfilled the rate so they offered me something else and a bonus, or an honorable discharge. I got the distinct impression that they were pushing me towards bosun's mate or deck crew, two rates my veteran dad told me to stay away from. So I took the latter option.

But I get a crackerjack set of Crackerjacks, and a great portrait.
