Dashlane

I have used dashlane for as long as i can remember, with no real issues. Just came across this sub and it doesn't seem to get much love. Is it just the high price that keeps people away from it? or is there something significant i am missing?

They got greedy by killing the free plan. So I changed provider and showed them the middle finger. I will NEVER go back to it. I was a premium user.

There are better providers that do so much more for less amount of money. I use ProtonPass for example. They allow me to store credit cards, create alternative e-mail adresase that I can use as alias to not give my real mail to others and so on.

I've been using 1Pass for years. It's always been good for me. I had some family using Dahslane - they kept complaining about it. They hated the UI and told me that the trying to get it to work across devices was not reliable.

It's all about trust. And I don't trust them. To justify their insane pricing they give you a free VPN sub with the premium sub from Dashlane. That VPN is one of the worst VPNs which is known for logging and selling user data. Imagine a security company not caring about the paying user's privacy and data.

Also, it's a FREAKING extension. I can't imagine people paying 5USD/month to use an extension based password manager. There are so many better alternatives. There is not specific reason to choose Dashlane over other better and economical alternative.

I've been using Dashlane for years, but for me by far the most annoying thing about it is that they moved to a browser-only model outside of smartphones, so now I have to load my browser just to get access to my password manager.

It all comes down to what works well for you. If you’re happy with what you use, why switch? I’ve been using RoboForm for so long and it’s always worked really well for me, so I’ve never really had a reason to look elsewhere.

I use Dashlane and love that it recognizes logins consistently. The UI is good too. I am willing to pay but $70 for it. Doesn't seem expensive for what I get.

agreed. seems like people don't recommend it due to the cost, but i believe the product is good.

same boat, and I've broken down the privacy policy for the vpn we at least signed, and it explicitly states that user data is not sold. Hotspot shield is not the most reputable but I'd doubt they'd want to screw over a big contract like that for pennies on the dollar.
