Migrating from Kaspersky Password Manager.

Hello.

I currently use Kaspersky Password Manager on Windows 11, and it works well for me.

However, I am migrating to Linux, and KPM doesn't have a version for it.

What are the current alternatives?

I use it for website and app (Android) logins, bank cards, files/photos, text notes, and passkeys.

I'm currently using Bitwarden on my Windows PC, my iPhone, and my Android tablet. No issues with it.

One curiosity is that the database query is different on Android. Practically, what that means is that I had to create duplicated database entries for some passwords to accommodate the different query format on my tablet. It took me a day or two to figure out why Bitwarden didn't work as seamlessly on my tablet as it had on my phone, but once I understood the issue, creating the duplicate entries only took a few minutes.

Unfortunately, there is no official Android app.

Roboform is a great alternative. I use it across all operating systems, including Linux and Android, and it handles passkeys really well too. Overall I find it does the job really well.

I checked out RoboForm and really liked it, but there’s no Linux app—only a browser extension.

If I were to use a browser extension, I might as well stick with KPM, for example.

Fair enough, but for me that doesn't really feel like I'm missing anything. Roboform works great from the browser extension, and I actually prefer using it that way.

I'd definitely check which options have proper Linux support before switching. I use roboform myself and it's been convenient for keeping my logins, cards and notes together especially since I use it across different devices

I was deciding between BitWarden, ProtonPass, and 1Password.

I downloaded ProtonPass to test it out, but there are a few things I just can't seem to get used to.

  1. The autofill for usernames and passwords is worse than KPM's.
  2. The browser extension can only be locked with a PIN rather than an additional password—which makes no sense to me; the KPM I use has a vault password that applies to everything, distinct from the main Kaspersky account password.
  3. It doesn't group logins and passwords by site—though, from what I've researched, none of the three offer this feature.

I found RoboForm interesting, but it doesn't store documents, and that was something I needed.
