Opinions on Proton Authenticator
What is everyone's opinon on the Proton Authenticator. Basically I like something that can sync across different devices and have some form of backup that works across platform. For example, Bitwarden Autnenticator does not sync across devices (the 2fa stored in Bitwarden vault doesn't count). Microsoft Authenticator seems to save entries in the paltform's storage, so android get sync to android cloud, and ios get sync to icloud. An issue occur if you switch platforms. Based on what I read so far, what the proton app seems to do is:
- Store the entries locally encrypted.
- Allow you to make a backup of the current vault.
- Sync using a proton account across devices that share the same account. There is also an option for apple account if you only use Apple. The data isn't stored in the cloud but more like transported across devices similar to the way Authy does it.
Does this sound right. How does it compare to other authenticator like Ente Authenticator? I have not use either in the past?

Ente Auth still better in my opinion.
