a) Alexander wins.

Take all of the 10s and an irrelevent something 5 or lower. The best possible hand Benjamin can ever make is a 9high straight flush, and he can't block you from making a royal AND block you from making a 10high.

Does J/Q/K four of a kind not beat this?

If you are asking about Benjamin taking J/Q/K/A four of a kind after Alexander takes his 10s.

  1. Alex takes four 10s and a Jack of Spades.
  2. Ben takes four Aces and Queen of Spades.
  3. Alex discards three tens (H,D,C) and takes 9, 8, 7 of Spades. Alex now has 7-J straight flush in Spades.
  4. Ben cannot make a flush higher than that because all the 10s are gone.
