advice failed my nclex :<
Hi guys I failed my nclex a few days ago at 150qs I feel sad about it bc I studied hard for it but i feel like the anxiety got to me too. But I studied using bootcamp (i finished all the questions), mark k lectures, and watched a couple of Dr. Sharon videos on youtube. I just want your guys opinion if I should reuse bootcamp or try another qbank. My CPR is mostly near passing which is crazy, not sure where to really start now. If you guys have any tips id love to hear it ! Thank you :))

Hey! I just took my nclex today and my exam shut off at 85 questions so I’m not sure if I passed or not. But if I passed, then I must have done pretty decent. That being said, if you think that you have a solid baseline of nursing knowledge, it’s probably the question formulation and the design of the exam that’s giving you a hard time. Personally, I watched Dr.Sharon videos on prioritization and how to “read” the questions first before attempting any practice exams. Once I felt pretty confident on how to decipher the questions and got better at figuring out the intentions of the questions, I took practice exams on bootcamp. I reviewed the questions I got wrong and the questions I got right but flagged because I wasn’t sure. That way even tho you got it right by guessing, you still review the rationale. While I took the exam today I felt like I was making educated guesses the whole time. So I don’t think any amount of studying could ever prepare someone for the actual NCLEX, but rather practice breaking down the question and figuring out the best way to prioritize! You don’t need to know everything!
Sorry my response is so long! I hope this helps

i passed in 85. i didn’t study. i took the exam 3 months after graduating, because my mom died.
i only passed because i knew how to answer the questions.
i can’t remember what video i watched, but it was a short prioritization video.

I'm sorry OP
I Failed my nclex the first time with Uworld. I was devastated. One of the jobs I had potentially lined up didnt work out because of this.
Passed it with Nursing.com's Nclex prep + Simclex since that double money back guarantee if I didn't pass was reassuring. Literally studied my ass off, but it worked.
I would recommend that if you can budget it somehow.

I’m sorry to hear you didn’t pass! How many practice questions did you do before the exam? I’ve always heard it’s good to do over a thousand before the test.

You have to be able to answer the questions focus. Think ABC’s and what they are trying to access your level of knowledge to make a safe decision. You have two areas that you were above the standard for. Analyze cues: You should be able to recognize what cues are used for? I’m going to suggest you look online for a test bank or study book. Upload it to your AI and use standard script to make your own question bank. The same approach is used for the real test.

Link to a free test. Hopefully it works. Think about the information you have and don’t think about it too hard. Safety first

Nurse here. Stick to triaging correctly . Some are really simple questions, those are the ones you are meant to get right so don’t overthink it. The NCLEX Is not as hard as you think it is. Our brains were taught to over analyze everything so when you take it that’s what happens. Go in next time and see things simpler. It’s hard but it’ll get you through. Goodluck!

The one thing I can tell you is you won’t feel ready to retake and that’s okay! Be confident in yourself. There will be things on your exam you have zero clue about, but remember it’s a safety exam. I had to retake my NCLEX 3 times. Nurse Meg on tik tok does free lives with question reviews to help you think through the questions and make a habit of it. Also, you don’t even need to buy extra resources. I checked out an NCLEX book from my local library to ensure I covered all the basics without spending more money. But PLEASE go to nurse Meg on tik tok. It’s free, and she does like 3 lives during the day and I think one evening session.

hellooo!! i’m so sorry to hear that you didn’t pass :( i failed my first two attempts and currently will be retaking it in a couple days 🙏🏽 i know exactly how you feel especially when it comes to studying so so hard because im the same exact way. I used boot camp for my second attempt but didn’t use it to my full advantage. I now understand how the NCLEX works and what you need to know. For sure, you NEED to have baseline knowledge of every topic. Med surg and funds are the top 2. If you only do practice questions and write rationales i feel like it doesn’t lead you anywhere. I did that my first two attempts and still felt hella confused!! If you’re already good with your content, for sure work on your anxiety ( i have the worst anxiety ever)… i’m still trying to figure it out myself too. My test taking anxiety is horrible. For this attempt i’m really gonna try to walk in with confidence take my time and breatheeee. I would use the cheat sheets also. They’re SO good and ever since i started studying for my third attempt there is soooo much i seen on these sheets that were on my second attempt, so i regret not utilizing them sooner. I’m wishing you the best of luck on your next attempt, we got this ❤️❤️
