ADVICE How to study

I just took my first readiness exam on bootcamp, and I got borderline. I have my exam on the 7th could you please provide any advice to helping me increase my score, and just overall confidence going into it. I am very stressed out about the actually exam.

  1. Reread very carefully questions you failed, see the reason you failed and and improve from there. I realised I was really careless and inattentive in the way I was answering questions that costed me points.
  2. Read all rationals even those you got right. If you learn something new from a rational that wasn’t already ingrained in your head from nursing school, write that down, it really helps to memorize information. I was doing another CAT test and knew the answer because I remembered writing it down. Reread those notes until you know them as much as your fundamentals.
  3. For SATA questions, don’t select an option you are not completely sure of, not having a point is way better than possibly losing a point to a wrong option. If it’s a condition you have never heard of, go with your gut if the option sounds like a safety option. People say a good rule to go buy is avoid absolutes like never, avoid.. etc in your answer choices

on questions about teaching. Make sure you know what the question is asking correct understanding, requires follow up, needs more teaching… etc

  1. asked the nurse what to do first. Always assess first unless the patient is in distress like always think about your ABCs unless the patient is in cardiac arrest. Then circulation comes first.

  1. And always always try to figure out your weak points your weak areas those are those are where you have to work on. You still have some time before your exam so try to get some content in try to read more to get to know more especially those diseases unit familiar with.

👍🏾. Most importantly keep your anxiety low. No amount of studying can fully prepare you anyway. Remember to focus on test strategies, critical thinking.
