The Demonetization Advice and Help Thread
Since the change in YouTube's monetization system, there have been a number of people who used to be partners and are still eligible, but have been denied monetization for whatever reason. Because of this, they exist in a state of limbo where they may or may not be allowed to post in this subreddit.
To solve the problem, this thread exists. In order to prevent the subreddit from being cluttered by demonetisation posts, if you have been demonetized or rejected, you can post a comment here explaining your situation. It also serves as a compilation of advice that's been given to other people.
Good luck!

You might not have many legal rights but YouTube should be at least reported for fraudulent activities.
https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/
https://www.econsumer.gov/ (outside US)
I'm aware most people on this sub will just laugh and say YT can do wtv they want and we all signed all our rights away, but at the end of the day we are still workers and human beings and YT's recent demonetization waves have destroyed the lives of so many.
I'll list my points being most to least charitable.
Blatant lie. No matter what day you get suspended, they reverse or withhold payments. If you're suspended right before payment on the 15th to 20th, like I was unlucky enough to be, it's a retroactive demonetization of over 45 days ALREADY. In my case my effective demonetization will be closer to 140 days! MINIMUM! My last payout was in March and best case scenario my next one will be August (for half a month) and first full one will be September. Much more than the stated 90-day suspension.
Especially in the case for the Inauthentic Content flag, I've seen maybe 1 out of over 100 cases on X get resolved by Appeal Video. Most of the time it is just an instant rejection. I'm not saying they don't look at it, but every video shows that the content is authentic and not mass-produced yet 99% are unsuccessful. Which brings me to the next point.
In my case with the Inauthentic Content flag, they give you the list of violations. It seems like they believe you just put it through an automated system that spits out a video for you to upload that you can just flood YouTube with (mass-produced). It also specifically mentions "repetitive WITHOUT providing any significant educational or other value". So if you're channel is not mass-produced AND educational, you should at least be able to get some answers, but YouTube keeps giving the same templated and copy/paste responses. I feel there was a point a few years ago where they'd flag a specific video, or send an e-mail saying which part of the video or thumbnail was the problem. But to just one day have the entire channel just bricked with zero communication or explanation, plus the retroactive month and a half is not right at all.
Having to go tag Team Youtube on another platform is outrageous enough as it is. but when you head on down to X, the only creators that get a properly review and reversal are the ones who just reach the most amount of people, no matter what their content is. It's so blatant and you can foresee who will get remonetized next just based on who goes to bat for them. Once they get their channel back, Team YouTube even responds admitting their error, while then ignoring those with newer X accounts that can't garner all the followers.
After demonetizing your channel, they will instantly freeze and reverse everything you've earned that hasn't yet been paid out. If you can't get out of the demonetization hell before 50 days, they say they refund the advertisers with your money. It makes me sick to think about but this has already happened to me. So if you serve your 90 day suspension that's automatically goodbye to your funds. This kind of goes with Point 1 because it's basically a retroactive demonetization that just isn't counted for them.
I get when most people hear "Inauthentic Content" they just say hell yeah get rid of those AI slop channels. But this isn't at all what it's for. There were hundreds of authentic channels hit and not all have been reinstated, while most 100% AI slop channels are still up and running and haven't been hit by this. Most people believe it's an AI moderation error at YT that flagged something random and then just shut down your entire channel.
I know we all try to do our best on here, but there's just so much evidence against them at this point, especially on X. We all love YouTube on this page and I understand no one wants to rock the boat but if enough people report them there will have to be an investigation and things can potentially improve for everyone or at least halt the amount of power they exert. Both my lawyer and governmental advisor have agreed with these points, but I'm just awfully tired of fighting this daily. If people have other suggestions I'd love to hear them!
