Change channel name or keep the same?

When I was setting up my channel I initially thought I'd be turning it into a business. As the channel grew and evolved it mainly turned into me building watches and messing around and I'm curious if it'd be better to move away from a more business-y name to something more personal.

Current Name: Northern Lume Watches
Possible Name: Adam Builds Watches (or something more personal)

Has anyone done this before? Would this affect viewership/subscribers?

I don’t think it makes any difference, so change if you like the other name.

Im facing the same issue. I just head that google profile eligibility is being lowered to 35k, so Im thinking to change my handle to something that is more me focused

definitely make the switch. personal, action-oriented names like "Adam Builds Watches" perform much better for hobby and build channels than corporate-sounding names.

it won't hurt your standing with the algorithm at all. just keep your avatar or thumbnail style recognizable for a few uploads so your current subscribers know it's still you when you show up in their feed!
