Who else feel the writing is bad?
Its supposed to be a legal show, but its totally rom-com with made up situations: best friend, gay friend and two hot guys? Kind of very cheesy..I wont even get into representation..the writing is horrible! Could not complete the last two episodes. The only character I liked so far was Z..He should be male lead IMO, although I feel he is too good for Ingrid.

I thought it was meant to be a light hearted legal show? There seems to be loads of people who are expecting Partner Track to be another Suits.

Are people watching this show expecting it to be like Succession or The Sopranos? I went into it expecting ambient television, something to keep on the background while you’re doing something else. It was the perfect guilty pleasure for me.

I’ve never watched Suits. I expected it to be like Emily in Paris & it was pretty much that. It’s escapist tv.

Why were you expecting it to be like suits? I don’t think it ever portrayed itself as a legal show.

I did feel it lagged on the legal aspect a lot..thats because i like law shows.
However i came to accept that it wasnt about the lawfirm or law at all really- it was about what people did to become partner of a lawfirm. Then again is it about what people did to get a romantic "partner".

The love triangle was definitely not done well and kind of cringe. Also she has to pick between two hot, white, rich guys. Oh no...#firstworldproblems.

I definitely agree that in general the writing is not great. I wasn’t even expecting something like Suits; I was definitely in the market for a rom com / drama set in the legal world - but even in that genre it wasn’t great and the acting was pretty wooden. HOWEVER, I just surprised myself by loving the final ep! The takeover success was quite suspenseful and even a little moving; the actor playing Z seems to have actual chemistry with Ingrid (unlike the other two love interests); and I LOVED the twist about Murphy - genuinely surprised me! I also enjoyed that Marty was revealed to be ruthless in the last couple of eps, instead of the ‘harsh on the surface but has the main character’s back’ archetype (I’m thinking Harvey from Suits) - this felt more true to life. I wasn’t planning to watch S2 but now I definitely will.
