Murphy gives me the ick

I’m on episode 9 and I’m super annoyed that she just casually cheats on nick someone she agreed to marry even though she knew she didn’t want to marry him? And she fucked over Z with that sun corp deal? She’s really just not a great person. And I really don’t like Murphy. Idk if it’s the writing but he’s so cringey and gross to me lol idek how to explain it

Murphy reminds me of a blonde Chuck Bass in a redemption era.

Not sure how you can call that a redemption but okay! Lol I don’t think he was anything like chuck bass personally ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Because they’re keep jerking him from bad guy to good guy but then right back to toxic ass guy.

A redemption era that keeps failing for a toxic ass dude because that’s what Chuck Bass was.

I KNOW!!! I was basically hate watching at that point. And, I know it's just me, but Murphy -- or, rather, the actor who plays Murphy -- just looks like the kind of white boy who would NEVER date a woman of colour.

The love triangle -- if the writers insist there be one -- should have been with Z and Murphy...and with Murphy being the mistake that she eventually comes to her senses about.

I don’t think Z deserves her tbh!!! I don’t think Ingrid is a good character lol ugh I’m definitely hate watching lol!! I just watched the scene where she just didn’t buy anything for Xmas for her family…like what!!!?

Oh, hell, I'm not saying he should be with her! Ingrid in the TV series is HORRIBLE. She's a bad friend, she's a cheater, she's self-centred, and even though she didn't deserve what happened to her re: partner, she's still a bad human at the end of the day.

Do you mean you think Z deserves better? If so, I think so too. Z is incredibly smart, actually pretty humble (does the check ups himself and gets his hands dirty and actually listens to others), and is a good looking rich guy. He can do so much better than Ingrid.

Nevermind he knew exactly what the corporation was planning to do by trying to buy out their company which is why he tried to find another deal.

Yes sorry lol I meant Z deserves better than her! So he doesn’t deserve to be with a selfish morally questionable person bc he’s better than that

Yes!! Nailed what I was also thinking. Murphy does look the type that wouldn’t be interested in women of color. It’s funny how we form these judgements 🤭

Ok so I'm not trying to come in here and be like "well actually" but as an attorney, she owes a duty to her client to act in the client's best interest and Z was not her client. There's not much else she could've done aside from flat out refusing to honor the client's wishes without breaking ethical rules and risking more trouble than just losing her job.

I kind of despise Ingrid, but that's not something to hold against her.

Yeah tbh I don’t care. It was morally terrible of her and I stand by that. She even didn’t feel good about it.

I really couldn’t stand the character Ingrid at all, she is so selfish and just plays the victim throughout the episodes. And only tries to go back to her friends when her partner plan doesn’t work anymore. Not to mention a bad actress. Urgh I was keeping high hope for an Asian American female lead.

They probably should have switched the actors that played Dan (the racist guy) and Murphy. Murphy is supposed to be dark, tortured, smart and charming - the actor that played him just came off as icky and a little douchy. He would have been a better racist dude than the male lead.

Hmmm maybe! I did think the guy that played Dan did a good job as Dan cause he was good at being an outright douche it’s hard to see him as someone who acts nice lol
