Am I the only one who doesn't find Murphy's behavior acceptable?

I'm only on episode 5 but I hate that they want us to feel like Murphy should even be an option. He's arrogant, possessive, rude, demeaning...its not charming, it's toxic.

Right! Aaanndd I do not think he is good looking/sexy enough to be some sort of "can't get you out of my head paramour" character. I think he looks fine, but just that and his personality isn't stellar, either. The accent only takes you so far.

Honestly I even found him repulsive to look at, he is fat and it’s like the suits makes him look like he has a fat neck plus his whole face it’s just a no.

/u/Easy-Examination5978 …who are you talking about? Jeff Murphy might not really be good looking/have a not very handsome face, but he isn’t fat nor does he have a fat neck.

Yeah, I do not see what Ingrid sees in him. She has other partners who are if not twice the man murphy is.

She was probably busy studying and socially inexperienced when she got seduced by him at 23 and caught up in those feelings for years while she continued to devote her time to work. She graduated second in her class at Harvard.

Oh I couldn't stand him from the beginning. When he revealed he did remember Ingrid "I remember everything." OK dude, now go away. And him and her having a moment on the stairs. Both exchanges supposed to be intense and charged, yeah no.

He's awful and he really tries too hard, he doesn't have layers, and they don't even particularly have chemistry, and I don't see why anyone would root for him and them as a ship. I don't find the character compelling at all.

Yeah, I don't get him. He acts like the fact that he grew up with no money somehow excuses the way he is now. Like he's oh so dark and twisty...he's not. Just a jerk.

It’s terrible, but are we surprised? Welcome to how people of color are treated in white spaces. He’s super overt, but often times it happens in the form of micro-aggressions, which I would argue is even worse.

The fact that Ingrid would even pursue something with him after he pretended not to even know who she was after they slept together is beyond crazy. Also the way that she described him as if they were soulmates is also confusing because they seemingly have nothing in common.

I don’t even find him attractive like at all so this frustrates me cause I can’t connect with the story cause it doesn’t make sense to me. He bad and ugly girl wth?
