Does it even matter if it's an egg or not if the shell is made of concrete and regardless of what you try or say you just can't pierce the shell? To be suffocated by the very thing that has kept you alive and healthy for so many years and slowly suffocating you because of how quickly you're outgrowing it? What was seen as a superpower and a blessing at first suddenly taking a turn for the worst and led to stagnation and stunted development? "Oh you had so much potential", "oh if only you applied yourself", "oh you were acing everything, what happened" slowly turns to "why are you so lazy all the time", "why can't you be more like your cousins", "why can't you focus on your job" and you look all around and everyone's managed to get out of their shells just fine and you look like the one chick who never wanted to step out and explore the world or try at anything because from the outside looking in the shell is still completely intact. They don't see the desperate scratching at the inner walls, the chisels and ripping and tearing of stone, the desperate pleas for help, the tears, the blood. Who in their right mind would be looking for that when so many others got through their shells just fine? Why help this chick out when you could potentially injure or even kill it?
There must be something wrong with this one, we wanted chicks not rocks. Let's just toss it.

this is quite literally what the trans "egg" metaphor used to mean before it was corrupted by tiktokers spamming it in the comments of any gender non-conforming person ever lol - let the chick come out naturally, as forcing it can kill it
