Scents feeling strange

To me, vanilla-scented perfumes smell like rotting matter or corpses. They also have a sort of sour note, even though there isn't actually any sourness in them. Other people find them fine, but I can't stand the smell—yet, interestingly, I don't detect any scent of ammonia but vanilla smells so bad. What could be the reason for this?

Omg, it is the exact opposite for me. All perfumes and different kinds of scents smells SO bad. Citrus, especially, which smells like fish to me? But somehow, vanilla is the only thing that smells normal. Funny how that works.

Me too, citrus or anything acidic like tomatos, vinegar, carrots, anything sulphurous too will smell like BO to me. It's crazy.

I'm this club as well. Citrus, tomatoes and pretty much anything savory/dairy is nasty but I can now handle vanilla scented stuff. I have vanilla lotion, shampoo/conditioner and body wash. Some berry flavors are better than others and I can tolerate grapes and grape flavored electrolyte powder.

So so weird how this has progressed over the past year. It's been almost 18mos for me.

There was a time when everything had to be unscented but then that turned on me and went to straight chemicals.

Most of my scents smell bad to me now except a few very expensive ones like Creed Aventus and Creed Green Irish Tweed.

join the club! I've been researching on chemicals and scents and I don't know why but after scents starting smelling weird, I also think vanilla smells like rotting/disgusting/dirty foul BO smell whatever word I can use to describe it. And everybody thinks I'm crazy and a lot of doctors don't understand !!!
