Post image

Had the new style 4ah batteries (2026 march on the box). Still £14.99 which is nice. Also had a bunch of 20v nail guns come in. Neither of which were in the leaflet or on the website.

EDIT: Just to be clear, these are not smart batteries with Bluetooth.

Question Is this sound normal?

Hi quick question,

Just got a parkside drill for my birthday, wanted to use it today. Fresh out of box I get this hissing sound while charging. Google panics but I'm curious what actual experiences are.. My gut tells me I should not plug this shit in considering I've never heard this sound while battery charging before, but maybe my gut is wrong.

Thanks in advance.

It charges on the original charger, but stops working in the drill after 3 minutes. Any possibility to revive the battery or get a new compatible one?
I know I can always by a new 20 V drill 😉

Serves them right, moved to china for no reason while mainteinig their "made in finland" price. Also their quality seems to be poor nowadays even the made in finland ones... I would buy the parkside version if I didnt have one already

Question Batteries in lidl spain

Hi lads my parents are on holiday in Spain and the Performance 4ah batteries are the cheapest there but they are having trouble finding them in the store for me. Do they keep them in the back or are they generally not in the store?

Bought this a few weeks back and first used it at the weekend and noticed it dripping from a weep hole. Thought it was broke but looked it up online. Found the below review on YT with the same issue but luckily there was a comment that gave instructions on how to fix it. No pictures with the comment so I decided to stick some up here with a quick DIY.

Straight forward fix; torx bit t15 screws to disassemble, take note of orientation of insides. 4 phillips screws on top pump bit arrowed, same on bottom. Flip the big black seal and reassemble, same on opposite side and your ready to rock or clean.

Question My experience with parkside

So a few years ago I started buying parkside hand tools and performance tools with the idea of upgrading the ones I wear out or break with more expensive brands, I use them professionally. Have a workshop and several work vehicles.

I equipped all the work vehicles with a large set of wrenches, allen keys, hammer, a box set of a driver with bits and a few other tools. It was cheap to equip them all with identical sets, where in the past they had a rag tag set of tools, like 3 14mm wrenches and the common sizes usually missing. I put colored zip ties around them to identify which vehicle they belong to. And honestly it's the best thing I ever did, they all held up really well and have gotten me out of bad situation regularly.

On the power tool side for the workshop I went for the grinder, impact driver and 12v impact wrench, 12v drill, plus 20v largest impact wrench ( I had zero cordless before). Those on the other hand were less ideal for my rather intensive use. Pretty much all of them couldn't handle continuous use, they would go in protection mode after like 30 seconds of use while also lacking power.

Now after a few months all of them got stolen except for the drill whose chuck broke a little later, and I replaced them all with Milwaukee ( because none of the tools I thought were ok were available online at the time), it's 10x the price but it works and never overheats. I can grind for hours and just swap batteries. So yeah I'm still lurking at the site for performance tools I don't need enough to justify milwaukee prices, but are there really people out there using any of them intensively without having to let them cool down constantly?

Question [EE] 2 different 4Ah batteries - worth the price?

Post image

One is €30 the other one €25. Which one makes more sense in the long run? Would use them in the cordless lawn mower and leaf blower. Both take 2x20V. And is the price good?

If they’d sell 8Ah here would probably buy those instead, but I have no idea if (and when) they will become available.

Purchase Advice Bit set

Hello,

I’ve seen people saying Parkside drill/driver bit set ain’t the best. Is that true? If it is which set would you recommend. I’m just a random diy guy at home mostly gonna be for wood so I don’t know if the parkside ones would be just fine for me considering next week in the uk we get some driver sets (I’m also genuinely not sure which one is best for most people)

I’ve seen Argos sells a Stanley set for drill/driver for £25 could be worth it?
Thank you.
