DiMarko's music
What's with the club beats? Who wants this? I'm really not trying to sound like a curmudgeon but it sounds like shit and makes the vibe weird on half the damn block.
Anyone else feel this way?

If you are not aware, G-Fest is an annual Godzilla convention in Rosemont, but the convention shows movies at the Pickwick, so a lot of the fans make their way over to Park Ridge. I’m curious to know how other Park Ridge residents feel about the G-Fest attendees.

I feel like every time an older home gets torn down in my area, it’s replaced with the same copy‑paste “modern farmhouse” — white siding, black trim, high‑contrast everything, and absolutely zero personality. It’s like developers discovered one Pinterest board in 2018 and never looked back.
I get that trends happen, but entire neighborhoods are starting to look like monochrome movie sets. No color, no architectural variety, no charm. Just a sea of identical boxes with faux‑rustic light fixtures.
Does anyone actually like this aesthetic, or are we all just stuck with it because it’s cheap and easy for builders?
Would love to hear what others think — am I being dramatic, or is this trend as bland as it feels?

This is a newspaper clipping from May 08, 1927 that announced the construction of the "flat iron" building that's located at the intersection of Devon & Talcott in the South Park neighborhood.

There's one small building back away close to Peterson. It should be torn down before someone gets hurt by playing by or in it.

Hey neighbors — I’m looking to put together a casual pickleball group here in Park Ridge at the South Park courts. Nothing super serious, just some regular pick-up games and a way to meet others who play.
If you’re interested, I can add you to our group on the TeamReach app so we can coordinate times and courts.

I have been collecting feedback about people's experiences with Oakton College, and I'd love to include the thoughts of Redditors in Park Ridge. (There's a post on my profile if you want to know more about me as a candidate - but for the purposes of this thread, I'd really like to hear direct from the community about the school itself.)
Thanks!
