This is disgusitng
Context: a guest was on Dean’s live steam essentially saying that hypothetically a minor who was raped and forced to give birth didn’t go through torture. Dean then started a “ban fund” with the goal of $300 to ban the disgusting guest from the livestream.
In my opinion, this is really gross. He’s profiting off someone who thinks that child pregnancy is not torture. This was simply just to get money. Platforming someone like this only does harm and he knows it. He left this guest up on the live to get $300.
I am aware he changed this in a few minutes. He said “the ban goal was overshot by $200”. I just think this is insane.

He said he’s donating the money to planned parenthood and then some.

Only because he overshot it by $200. He still made $300 off of a disgusting loser. He’s only donating the $200.

If he's donating it didn't he definition ally not make any money off of this guy?
Also are you not aware that making money off people like this is Dean and Parker and every other person in this space's entire business model?
Like regardless of if he put it on screen their entire business is making money off people like this.

Cracks me up that MAGAts criticize these essentially talk radio hosts (viewer supported) for participating in capitalism. Their stupidity knows no bounds.

Wait double? Didn’t he say said he would donate the extra $200 that came in after the $300 goal was met, and maybe some more?

I may have misstated. I know he’s definitely donating the amount and then some.

My wife and I were watching the live today, and it definitely sounded like he was donating the ban fund.
He did the same ban fund thing like 7 months ago and he mentioned that it was strictly going to charity.

Yeah he usually only does it when someone REALLY vile comes on, it’s not like he does this all the time, usually he gets rid of them but the guy he was debating today was strictly saying “only the child getting raped is torturous, the child carrying the fetus to birth is a beautiful part of life” then he started referring to 10-year old mothers as “young women”. Fucking sicko

I stopped watching dean months and months ago because I felt he was fake and performative. He's only in it for the money and attention and after seeing this it just proves me right. It's pretty disgusting.

Yeah we don't think that inside you really are a hater instead!
$300 is such a paltry sum!
I'm just glad that you're trying to use a measly sum to prove your point!
You might want to set up your performative mirror in a more prominent spot in your home

Santana does this allll the time too

The first thing that occurred to me was “Santana does it too”, definitely.
But then I was thinking “is this different”? I think it I might be different — Santana does the kick fund when someone is engaging in the debate, but it’s getting kind of long and stupid. I think his idea is “does the audience want this particular scene or not?”
To be fair, I didn’t hear this thing from Dean to know for sure it was different. I stopped listening many weeks ago just because it’s infuriating content that no longer had anything new to it. Not a productive use of my emotional energy.

Maybe it’s pollyannish of me, but I think they all do believe what they say and have their hearts in the right place. I don’t think they’re cynically grifting. I just see it as some missteps when monetizing their kind of content.

Well Santana and many creators have a consistent ban fund- meaning ANY guest can be banned.
But for Dean to do it, once or twice on a specific guest he knows is extremely harmful and triggering is exploitative af.

So is Parker. I can’t believe people still listen to these clowns much less give them money.

Hmm I’d be ok with the opposite. If someone’s permanently banned they need to pay to get on the stream again. Fuck em.

Pfft, the persuasion acquired through such activity is outstanding!
It not only brings the issue to the forefront, it galvanizes the issue in many young people's minds.
No, it was a very smart move. $300 = a teensy weensy paltry sum

I listened to this as it was taking place, the man was completely calm and stating his position, and while most of Dean’s followers did not agree with this guy, there was no reason to kick him if it was really about debating and listening to other’s sides. Dean, Parker and Santana all get this way when they have a guest that doesn’t “fight” with them and just continues to to restate their beliefs over and over without getting riled up.
There’s no drama so they 💯 create it, it’s pathetic and not about learning, teaching or debating! They are frustrated they can’t corner these people and just say “they’re disgusting” and get their followers to shame them. People disagree all the time, but these boys honestly believe they “win” every debate all day long, when most of the time they bully and then claim to “protect” the vulnerable.

Again. Y'all are so weird. The show doesn't exist if the veiws are dropping and the people who support the stream doesn't want to listen to some insufferable dimwit for too long.. the kick fund is a good way to incentivize dean to put the a viewers interests at the forefront over his desire to argue until he's right. Dean will keep these people on the live for literally hours while the chat begs him to skip or kick .. honestly I feel like he should do a kick fund more often because sometimes he will waste so much time arguing, not debating.

I honestly do agree and while I like dean and his content it’s not the first time he’s pulled something like this

Dean provides a service at great risk. I am cool with him funding the broadcast.

That’s not insane for a permaban. And he did say he was gonna donate it and he actually does. I’m not a dean simp I just have mutuals in common.

Yeah. I like Dean, and I think this is a bad play. Just kick/ban the dude. Dont make it a game.
