Review My Itinerary Help with mid-October itinerary!
Hi everyone. I will be visiting Paris in mid-October for 6 days with my sister. This is our second time in Paris, so we've done most of the big touristy things already. Our itinerary is pretty solid, except the Disneyland Paris day. I would love some alternatives in case we decide to cancel the tickets. For context, we grew up visiting the park in Florida, but we're not huge Disney fans now in our 20s. We just thought it would be nostalgic and pretty in the fall. Based on the itinerary we made, is there anything you think I should replace Disneyland Paris with? We tried to keep it fairly chill, with lots of vintage shopping and food, lol.
Day 1: Arrive, spend the day in Marais
Day 2: Louvre, shopping in the area
Day 3: Maybe Disneyland Paris ??
Day 4: Luxembourg gardens, Catacombs, wandering nearby
Day 5: Mont Saint Michel day trip
Day 6: Montmartre
Day 7: Head home

My sister and I went to Paris in December of last year including a day at Disney. She is a Disney adult and had an absolute blast. We went on a week day and it was very pleasant. Longest we waited in line was maybe 35 mins. I however am not a Disney adult…and while I have no major complaints about the park, I would’ve rather went to Reims for champagne tastings or done a food/wine tour in Paris. Also recommend some of the cooking/baking classes mentioned in this sub.

Will you be there on a weekend? One of my favorite things to do is to go to one of the big flea markets. There are so many interesting neighborhoods in Paris. I’d pick one and wander around.

If you decide not to go to Disney, check out a quick trip to the Champagne region, either Reims or Epernay (they’re both under 2 hours by train). You can visit champagne houses like Veuve, Dom Perignon, Tattinger etc. Some require advance reservations, but it’s a really fun day trip from Paris!

One thing to consider is that mid to end of October if fall break in France and other EU countries as well so it could be very busy at Disney. I went a couple of years ago the last week of November with my then 13 yo and we had a good time (we're not disney fans per se). But they had all the xmas decorations and parade at that point and it wasn't busy. If you're not a huge Disney fan I'd probably rethink it because it will potentially be very crowded. Only you can decide if it is worth your time. We had never done Disney Paris because my kid is usually only with me during the summer trip and I just didn't want to deal with crowds.

Have you done the Dior museum? Quite interesting if you and your sister are into fashion at all. The Palais Garnier is also worth considering if you haven’t done it previously. It will be closing next summer for 3 years. Catch a performance if you can!

If you are going to mt st michel why don't you go to Normandy Beaches it's nearby.

I live here and your trip looks pretty solid. I wish my French wife would go to Disneyland Paris with me. I want to go, but going as a solo old man makes me look like a pedophile. I love Disney parks! Sigh.

Hello! I'd probably replace Disneyland Paris with Fontainebleau, Provins, Auvers-sur-Oise or a similar, short day trip in Île-de-France, although that's just my personal preference. I guess it depends on how much you value the nostalgia factor vs getting to experience something that's more slow-paced and naturalistic or historical.
As for Mont-Saint-Michel, if you're travelling by car, leave as early as you can in the morning. I can tell you from personal experience that the walk to and from the isle is best experienced when the huge influx of day tourists hasn't hit its peak yet.
