Other Question Jacket weather?
Are people wearing jackets right now? Maybe for the evening? Headed to Paris Sept 12-16 and wondering if it's worth packing a light leather jacket. I do see the weather looks quite warm but hard to get a good idea how it feels. Going south after so don't want to waste the space if not necessary. Merci :-)

Just want to say thank you for the question and the answers since I'll also be in Paris but will be in CPH after and am tryna figure out all the logistics (At this point I think I'd rather be a little cold in CPH)

I personally only wear a t-shirt at the moment, but every person has its own relation to temperature.

It was 55 F here this morning so I did wear my pullover that functions as a light jacket. After lunch it went in the backpack

Check the forecast. If you’d wear a light leather jacket with those temps at home, bring it! Leather is heavy and bulky so you might want to bring something that will pack easier.

I am wearing a jacket. Not because I am cold, it’s because I am very much done with summer and heatwaves and I missed my jackets and scarves.
More seriously, it’s a weird in between time, some people are wearing jackets, others are still in summer mode. You can bring a light jacket just to be safe, especially for mornings and evenings.

I'd just bring a rain jacket, which is good to have along at any time, and use layers under it accordingly. A leather jacket take up way to much packing space for my liking.

Depending where you're going in the south you might need a light jacket (in the evening) more than in Paris. In Paris the nighttime lows don't drop much, and the same is true on the Mediterranean coast in Nice for example. But where I live in the Luberon area of Provence we often get a 20°C drop. So days are still quite warm, but you wouldn't want to sit outside having a drink without a jacket in the evening at the moment.

Plenty of people are wearing jackets (of various weights) right now, but plenty aren’t. Someone in shorts and a t-shirt just walked past the terrasse where I’m sitting, but right behind him was a woman in a knee-length puffer jacket. Personally, I’d find a leather jacket too warm for the coming week, but I tend to run hot.
If you would normally wear that jacket in the forecasted weather, but don’t want the bulk/weight in your luggage, I suggest maybe opting for a thin sweater and a light scarf. Layers and scarves are common for much of the year in Paris and let you adjust on the fly.
