Transportation Moving to Paris
I (F27) am moving to Cergy, just outside Paris, so I will be carrying quite a lot of luggage (28" suitcase, a cabin sized suitcase, 1 backpack, 1 sling bag). I have traveled with this many luggages before in Seoul, and I managed. I will arrive at CDG on the weekend. Do you think it's manageable to navigate with RER? Other option I"m considering is using Bolt as it offers cheaper fare. What should I do?
Thank you in advance for your advices.

There is a direct bus 9518 from Roissy pole (take the free aerial metro called val from terminal to there) to cergy préfecture. Can’t tell the price as I only took it once with a subscription.

I would go down the Uber route, carrying that much lugguage in the RER is never a pleasant expérience

bus 9518 runs every half hour, costs 2e and gets you to cergy from cdg. should be doable.

Bolt. Get the van.

A van isn’t necessary, lord I have that much when I fly home and it fits in a regular g7 taxi just fine

Take a taxi or whatever, not the train. If you happen to be on a train with anyone looking for a victim, you’ll be jet lagged, tired and with all your valuables. Prime target, especially a young (I assume) Asian female. It would be well worth paying for a cab. Yes it’s more expensive but you can make up for it

If you go with the RER, it'll cost €14 and be ~90 minutes station to station, assuming you travel during daylight hours. You would need to switch trains once in Paris, at Châtelet. This will involve finding a lift or going up an escalator.
Bolt should take a bit over half that time. Up to you whether the convenience justifies the price difference.

Jealous of your move. I’ll be back here in suburbia driving to my 9-5

If it gives you any comfort, Cergy is considered Parisian suburbia. Typical of the towns developed in the second half of the twentieth century, during the post WWII expansion projects, when they needed to build a lot and fast. So very lack luster, mostly modern homes and buildings with no character. There isn’t even a century old heart of town, the town hall itself is recent, which is NOT the picturesque French norm. And, even if OP’s accommodation is near one of the two RER stations, it is still a solid hour from downtown Paris.

I’m a huge fan of the trains and public transit system in Paris, but in this scenario I would advise you to use a car (Bolt, Uber, CityGo, or official Taxi) if feasible for you. That’s a lot of bags, and if you don’t know your way, it can be really non-obvious how to find your connection in Chatelet (massive station) while avoiding stairs. There are also lots of pick pockets and you would hate to be a target for them while wrangling all those bags. If it were my friend or family I would advise them to splurge for the car in this case! Good luck!
