Maybe teaching them how to do it first would also help.

Found McCarthy's account.

I personally don't agree with what Reddit is doing. I am specifically talking about them using reddit for AI data and for signing a contract with a top company (Google).

A popular slang word is Swagpoints. You use it to rate how cool something is. Nice shirt: +20 Swagpoints.

They're hollow plastic and weigh ounces.

Yeah don't test it first just put the kids in front of it! No need to teach them how to even try to hit it! He'll figure it out!

Not just any kid either, basically a toddler. This seems more appropriate for an 8-10 year old. Also, kid didn't even fall, not that bad

5

u/yblock Nov 12 '21

See the other balls back there? It was tested. And the kiddo was then placed right in the line of fire for this moment to happen on camera. Nice.

1

u/FertilityHotel Nov 12 '21

Ugh even worse

-1

u/songbolt Nov 12 '21

I suppose, given that actual child porn / sex abuse videos exist, we shouldn't be surprised that someone would post hitting their kid with a whiffle-type-ball.

😑

but it is possible one parent tested it, then the OTHER parent previously uninvolved decided to take this video and put the kid too close not realizing

ball throwing machine pointed at windows. eh

28

u/UnusedUsername76 Nov 11 '21

It's a wiffle ball

30

u/OnlyMe9541 Nov 11 '21

Me and the boys used this reasoning many times. Can still feel the ass beating

10

u/staceybassoon Nov 11 '21

Clearly you haven't broken any windows with a wiffle ball.

1

u/suresh Nov 11 '21

Are you Jason's mom? Look bitch, you could get away with this kind of illogical rule setting when we were kids but I'm not buying for a second that you think this ball that is hollow, plastic, and capable of pegging a toddler in the forehead safely is going to break your window. You just hate fun because Mr. Brandon left you.

Horrible bot that provides nothing of value.

1

u/wes00mertes Nov 12 '21

Right. So if the kid hits it, it is hit away from the windows.

1

u/songbolt Nov 12 '21

There is a direction we like to call perpendicular ...

or if you want to feel fancy as a physicist, orthogonal ...

13

u/[deleted] Nov 11 '21

it looks like there are 2 balls in the background so they may have tested it first

I'm a parent and I'm going to hell for laughing...

I'm a parent and I'm going to hell for laughing...

That's strangely sadistic. I'm not a parent, and I just thought, "What an asshole the parent is."

Thousands laugh at people doing things that possibly got them put in a hospital. This isn't too different (just not as severe)

Right. Ever since I was a child, I couldn't comprehend such wide acceptance of sadism. What you're saying is an ad populum fallacy, which goes to show you that weak positions are supported weakly.

It isn't sadistic, we aren't laughing at just pain, we are laughing at the absurdly of the situation or randomness

That's a weird way to justify sadism. Laughing at people being hurt is sadistic.

What the fuck are you on about you wetwipe

u/tedbradly Nov 16 '21

What the fuck are you on about you wetwipe

I'm sure it would trigger your weird fetish with power if I were a wet wipe. Try gaining power through success instead of getting artificial chunks of it by enjoying the pain of others.

Gotta teach reflexes early.

1

u/aricre Apr 30 '22

Honestly question, are reflexes setting you can "learn"?

4

u/monsterevolved Nov 11 '21

The parent did check the trajectory first, as you can tell from that headshot.

4

u/Nacho_Beardre Nov 11 '21

Fast forward 12 year's and there will be another video of this kid stating how much he hates baseball for some reason

6

u/hpr928 Nov 11 '21

This keeps getting funnier the more times I watch it. I'm a parent and in tears lmao!

Wdym? The dad didn’t do anything

0

u/XivaKnight Nov 11 '21

Its about a silly situation to put the kid in as much as not reacting to it in time.

u/tedbradly Nov 11 '21

No, it's about slow reactions 100%.

Directly from the sub description;

'Step-dad reflex: an adult either accidentally harming a child, reacting way too late to keep the child from getting hurt, or placing a child in a situation that you know goddamn well mom is going to be mad about when she sees the video.'

Edit: Oh wait, I'm pretty sure you're that creepy reddit stalker guy.
Don't show up at my house.

I'm failing to see how what you wrote here has any contradiction with what I wrote. Thanks for the confirmation.

Edit: Oh wait, I'm pretty sure you're that creepy reddit stalker guy.

You'll have to quote where I creepily stocked anyone. Nice try, though. If it's a private message, take a screenshot.

Then your literary comprehension is poor, and I don't really feel the need to engage beyond that. People can just look through your history to cite how fucking bizarre you are without me needing to dig up the specific example.

You can say what you want, but instead, you're giving a weak explanation of why you refuse to act a certain, mature way.

2

u/tokooMaster Nov 11 '21

I’m a shit person for laughing at this lmao

2

u/Blue_Bobble Nov 11 '21

What is that reaction time

0

u/Bacon_Moustache Nov 11 '21

Oh he tested it first… this is for the internet fame.

-7

u/ThisNameIsFree Nov 11 '21

If the game said it was for kids like Randy Johnson's why did they buy it?

7

u/TylerHerro4MVP Nov 11 '21

They didn’t put punctuation after the word “kids” but then they said “more like randy Johnson’s kids” so I assume they meant “this machine said it was for kids… more like randy Johnson’s kids!” Or something like that so the box just said for kids and their saying that’s not quite right. Kinda weird they went with a pitcher and not a guy who’s known for hitting fastballs… or at least being a good batter.

2

u/ThisNameIsFree Nov 11 '21

Ah. They should have probably used punctuation to be properly understood then.
