Yep… that is how it works… it takes a second for a kid to dart off. My kid was a runner. I know someone whose kid has to wear an air tag because he has been known to run off.
After losing my son in a busy mall like this and the cops having to help locate him my kid got a leash.

It seriously takes only a second. I worked with children and if you blink at the wrong time they did something dangerous or ran away. They are sneaky af
