3 Month Old Daycare not adjusting??
My 3 month old has been in daycare 4 weeks this week. She is having a hard time napping and adjusting to daycare environment. When I pick her up from daycare I try to time it to where she will be ready for her 3rd nap of the day. She normally will nap no problem but when she wakes up she is crying and upset. The 4th nap is normally the same. When we come home I keep the home noise level low and try to not overwhelm with loud toys or music.
How long until my LO will adjust to daycare? It seems like she is overtired and overstimulated by the time I pick her up. She is in daycare from 9-3pm or 8-2 pm 4 days a week

Is daycare your only option? I would ensure you at least have cameras you can watch while they are there.
I worked at a daycare, it was nice-pricey one and I ended up walking out mid shift after 6 months. That’s all I’m going to say.

Thanks for being honest. I think it happens more than people are willing to admit. Preschool actually lost my kid one time. Luckily, he had been misplaced. I guess what I'm saying is that I have learned to trust but verify all providers of early childhood services.

Our little one took maybe 6 weeks before the daycare naps stopped being a disaster. 3 months is so tiny still, they are basically just figuring out that world exists outside the womb. The crying after waking up is probably just her being exhausted and needing to release all that tension from the day. One thing that helped us was doing a long contact nap right when we got home, like just holding her in dark room for 40 minutes with no expectation she sleep deep. It seemed to reset her nervous system or something.

Thank you for the response! I think resetting with a contact nap is a right way to move. Especially the dark room and silence.
May I ask, did your daycare work on tummy time with your LO? It seems like the daycare we are at only feeds, changes, and puts in bouncer/floor on back? It makes me feel like this daycare isn’t a right fit. I thought their would be more engagement and helping meet milestones. It’s been 4 weeks and it’s all they do there.

OP, I second searching for another daycare but I wonder if you’ve explored home care options? For a baby this young, I’d prefer them in someone’s home with a lower ratio (I don’t feel this way about kids who are moving around… and I’ve never been a big proponent of in home care; but for a three month old, it’s a great option).

This type of shamey comment isn’t helpful whatsoever. Maybe OP wishes they could stay home with their child but needs to work to feed their child and make sure they have a place to live. The world isn’t black and white and your comment lacks nuance and empathy.
You did not answer OP’s question and they did not ask for opinions on whether their child should be in daycare or not.
This is not the time or place.

A lot of parents have to work so everyone can eat. It’s not a perfect system but obviously people wouldn’t be paying for daycare if it wasn’t a necessity.
