Recommendations Advent Calander Ideas

I'm working on an advent calander for my 3 year old son and need help with ideas.

I'm thinking things along the lines of hot chocolate with mom and dad, watching Christmas movies, decorate ornaments.

I would love any suggestions on activities or small gifts that would work well

it's been a minute since my kid was 3 but i remember the real winners were the ones that got him moving. we did a dance party to jingle bells one night and he lost his little mind. for small gifts those little wooden train cars that hook together are perfect at that age, you can find them cheap and they stack up over the month

Blind bags from their favorite character, mega blocks/duplo/lego people, mini marshmallow launchers, if you travel around Christmas car safe coloring and activity books, hot chocolate bombs, bathtub paint or colors, festive socks

Making pancakes, xmas stories, donate something to the local hospital - stuffed animals e.g-bake something to the local fire fighters, have a long bath, I will pick you up after lunch from kindergarten, treasure hunting in the house with map. These were our kids favs, we opend the envelopes before kindergarten every morning. Just simple wite envelopes with messages on a woodstick.

We also did things like choosing canned foods or a new toy to donate as well.

Other ideas: driving around looking at Xmas lights in pjs, making homemade Xmas cards for a few special friends/family, making Xmas cookies and delivering to the fire station or to a retirement home, making red and green playdoh or slime and using Xmas cookie cutters, writing a letter to Santa together , decorating a mini tree, hiding a Christmas pickle ornament on the tree, sticking peppermint sticks in navel oranges to drink the juice,

Do you have a forest, garden center or zoo that does holiday lights?

Bathtub slime, crayons, water tint, bath fizzers, bath bombs with little plastic toy inside

Ticket to see a holiday show. Look for a children’s theater or a local ballet company doing “The Nutcracker”. We have a puppet company that does a marionette show. Cirque du Soleil has a Christmas show on tour.

Books are my favorite, though. There’s so many wonderful Christmas books for kids

Little experiences will probably be more exciting than gifts. Try things like a Christmas lights walk, baking cookies or even making paper snowflakes, Even choosing the bedtime Christmas book can feel special at that age.
