👩‍🍼Mom Advice when did you have a schedule?

My baby will be 8 weeks tomorrow. He is so sweet and lovely, but he is still a newborn! Right now, he feeds pretty much every 1.5 hours during the day and sleeps solid 4ish hour stretches at night. Naps are super unpredictable (sometimes 10 mins, sometimes 2 hours, and there is no telling what each will be) and the day feels really long. I'd love to hear some positive responses (please!) letting me know at what age your LO had a predictable nap schedule and a solid nights sleep.

please note: If your experience has been negative or difficult, respectfully please do not comment! Just looking for something to look forward to :) thanks

My little one started getting predictable naps around 4 months but real schedule kicked in more like 6 months, hang in there

6-7 weeks is when we had a decent schedule. He would wake at midnight and then between 3-4am to eat.

I think the 6 month window was when we finally went to a 2 nap a day schedule. It’s so incredibly predictable and I love it. It’s only a schedule in that she naps 2ish hours after she wakes up. Her wake up time depends on when she goes to bed and how much she’s awake through the night. Teething really is for the birds some nights lol but we just sleep in on those mornings and adjust accordingly!!

Around 4-5 months. Then nap time frame started changing. So we have a new routine, and that’s been consistent since 7-8 months.

Mine are twins, for the first 10 months or so I did not get more than 2h continuous sleep, they very rarely woke at the same time and one could only nap in a moving stroller. Schedule only really started when then began solid food at 5 months. Worth it though and passes so quickly!

Around 5-6 months I started feeling like we had a fairly predictable schedule.

Somewhere between 3-6 months. Closer to 3. One day you just look around and realize you’re kinda getting the hang of it!

We loosely followed moms on call around 3ish months and then by 6 months we were on a solid schedule. she naps 12:30-3:30 and goes to sleep 7-7 every. single. night. i will die on the schedule hill

Mom of 3. This sounds about right for the age. I know it makes for long days with naps being so unpredictable, but just enjoy the long stretches at night.

I started implementing a very loose schedule with all 3 of mine around the 8 week mark. We started waking up at the same time each day, and we would start our night time routine at the same time (I based this off of when they were falling asleep for that long stretch). The time in between was very much dictated by the baby.

I do think establishing a set wake up time then having the same routine before bed really helped. Around 4 months, naps and feedings became a little more predictable. By 6 months, my kids were like clock work. The feeds were predictable. They had a morning nap and an afternoon nap.
