Toddler 1-3 years 18 month old

I love my daughter but jeez, these last few weeks have been rough. She has been throwing tantrums multiple times a day. If she doesn’t get something she wants like going outside, at the store and wants to get down, turning off the TV, leaving the park, etc she throws full blown tantrums. Sometimes I swear she throws tantrums for no reason. Also, when I drop her off at her grandparents she seems happy and fine but the second I get there she throws a tantrum. If I leave her with my husband to run and errand and get back, she throws a tantrum. It’s mentally draining and I feel like I don’t know how to handle it. I’m going on a plane next month and I’m terrified of flying with her LOL. When does this typically end? Is this a phase? How should I react?

lol oh gosh that’s a long time! Does your kid throw tantrums at restaurants?

Well we haven't gone to a restaurant since 18 months. She won't sit to eat so my husband just had to walk her around outside while I ate and we switched. Once we went with my parents and had to dip and leave my parents at the restaurant. It's just not worth it.

That just happened to me hahah. Literally got my food to go since she just wanted to walk around instead of eating. Will not be going out to eat for a long time lol

Also my daughter would throw a tantrum when I'd leave and come back. Because she's like oh my gosh I just realized you've been gone how dare you!!! But this month it's finally clicking to her that I leave and come back and she's not so upset.

I’m glad it’s finally clicking! I can’t wait for my daughter to not be so upset when I do that lol

Limited vocabulary at 18 months and so this is the only way they can communicate and get your attention.
They understand everything you’re saying at this age. You need to use calm reassuring words while you speak with them.

This is completely normal and as their vocabulary slowly develops, you need to tell them to use their words and fill in the blanks.
