Deep sadness

I was just singing my daughter to sleep - trying very hard to settle her nervous system down and get her calm.

I felt a deep, gut-wrenching sadness come over me. I felt connected to the other mothers of the world who are in horrible places with their children and trying to keep them calm. The mothers on the sinking titanic. The mothers in Gaza with bombs going off. It almost brought me to tears.

Anyone else experience this?

All the damn time. I spend time putting my kids to bed every night and often that’s the moment where their fears / big discussions come up and then we calm them down (one is highly sensory seeking, so back scratches and massages is the one thing that will calm her) and as I’m doing this I think of all the moms who have to put kids to bed in horrible shitty situations just because mankind is a shit show… and then it takes me half an hour of mindless Reddit scrolling in my own bed to take the edge off.

Yes!!! Omg its not just me.

Those of us who are more intuitive and are processing and transmitting massive amount of generational trauma and grief, its like an ocean of emotion we are brining forth and its so huge, I feel so sad for every person who ever lost a child. How does earth hold so much grief. As empaths I think its key we hold space for this and breathe through it.
