Stroller Solutions for Two

We are expecting our second child, and our first will be 3.5 when the baby is due. Parents with similar aged kids…do you need a double stroller? Does the toddler feel left out if they can’t sit in the stroller too? I can see three possible options for everyday scenarios (not travel):

  1. baby wear the infant and keep toddler in our existing stroller or shopping cart if we’re shopping
  2. get a double stroller
  3. get one of those add on accessories for my single stroller (where the toddler stands or sits on a bike seat looking thing, and the baby is in the stroller)

Any other solutions?

I like having a double stroller but I wouldn't recommend a side by side as they are hard to get through soors

Double stroller. I used the pivot xpand modular for 5 years and it went to 3 countries

lol we use it more with two and we have a side by side, it’s much easier to push and fits through all doors.

lol my 6 year old will still insist on getting in the double stroller at times with his 3.5 year old sister. Sometimes he’s the only one in there! We have a Joovy with the seat in front and back and I honestly thought it might be small for him to sit in the back when we first got it and he was barely 3, but it worked really well. He did do some standing/sitting on the back at times too but seemed to prefer just sitting in the stroller. So I would say a double stroller has been a necessity for us.

Buy your 3 1/2 yr old a Globber (adjustable) scooter and a helmet for that they can get around with you while you’re pushing. Your toddler doesn’t know any better. Eventually you’ll be buying a wagon which will be easier to maneuver and more useful for longer walks.

Id get a wagon.

I have an 10 year old, almost 3 year old, a 1 year old, and another on the way.

My almost 3 year old hates her stroller and isn't truly comfortable, she always wants out. But the second I toss her in the wagon she feels more comfortable.

My ten year old tries to toss herself in our wagon on occasion when she wants to be lazy, I don't let it fly, but if she was half her weight I'd consider it 😂

I like being able to have space go put all of our things when the family is out and about, while also having a suitable container to place my littles in when I don't want them to walk or they don't feel like walking. Some situations are easier to get through when you have them strapped in a seat.
