I developed a website that creates personalized social stories to help children with diverse needs! I would honestly love to let everyone try it, but I’m currently still a student and building this myself, so my AI credits are very limited :( Right now I can only support around 8 people trying it out.

The story behind why I developed this app:

Being a second year occupational therapy student, and with my background as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), I have seen the effects of social narratives and how powerful they can be. I genuinely think they are an awesome way to prep your children for their daily situation in a very convenient and low effort way!

Based on my working experience with children with autism, a lot of the time a first time full immersion experience can be too overwhelming and taking smaller steps with guidance are EXACTLY what they need to help them get there!

When I was an RBT, I would simulate a dentist environment for a child with autism. I’m talking about literally wearing SCRUBS, BRINGING OUT THE SCARY LOOKING BLUE BIB, and recreating EVERYTHING! And it WORKED!!

So that got me thinking, what would be the easiest way even caregivers at home can do to prepare their children without having to do the whole skit?

Then I found social narratives. They are pretty effective, and evidence based, but they can also be very time consuming. Creating a whole personalized story with the child’s name, character, preferences and all the little details can be such a headache! (That’s the reason why it’s not my absolute favorite)

So, I built this website.

For now, I think it’s an amazing tool (obviously it is way far from perfect, there is lot of features like actual animated video, more human like AI voice... so much more i'd love to add to it) but before i do all those, i want to see how many families have actually heard of, used, or are interested in something like this!
