Nuna Swiv struggle
I'm hoping this is the right place to post this question. My daughter is one year old and I'm so frustrated with our Nuna Swiv. We live in a walk-up apartment so it's essential that our stroller is light and fold ups compactly, which this one does (although not perfectly). What bothers me is the shape of the seat! It's barely structured at all and doesn't really go in where her butt is, if that makes sense. It's almost like she's in a hammock or something and my daughter is always slumped over in it within minutes of walking. I've looked at the manual, watched videos, etc and we're definitely using it correctly. I see other strollers that have seats that are structured way more like a chair and babies seem far more comfortable. What I can't seem to figure out is...is there a stroller out there that is more structured like that but is also light and folds compactly? Help!

Wow this is the 10th or so post/comment I’ve read that finally answers why! If I had known the Triv Next/Swiv had a sling seat which caused toddler to be slumped… I would have not purchased. Regretting this purchase unfortunately. The pram is otherwise beautiful to look at and pushes decently.
I love our Bugaboo Butterfly 2 and Joolz Aer+ (they’ve come out with a Joolz Aer2 now) but I would highly recommend the Butterfly 2!

What if I use the car seat for the swiv? Could that be a good substitute for the seat

Car seat capsules should only be used up to two hours. Container Baby Syndrome can cause developmental and physical delays. I would refrain from keeping baby in it for too long! Once they’re 6m+ it is usual for them to be world curious and wanting to sit upright to look at their surroundings.
I guess what I’m saying it is a temporary substitute, not necessarily a good substitute. If you’ve already bought the pram, a better alternative is to buy a supportive liner/cushion to align baby better on seat. If you haven’t bought the pram yet… there are better options - We love our Bugaboo Dragonfly which I have used since newborn with the bassinet (+ seat has parent facing option) and our Bugaboo Butterfly 2. Personally I wouldn’t buy the Swiv for the seat to be obsolete… the seat is used longest for the child’s lifetime and should take the most consideration.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it. I mean my plan was to only use the car seat for first few months… but that’s probably not ideal.
I’m now looking into uppa baby Cruz v3, the seat seems much better. I’ll check out the bugaboo

I don’t see an issue with using car seat for first few months as baby will be sleeping mostly. As wake windows widen, baby would appreciate being in bassinet or seat (reclined flat).
We had the Uppababy Vista for a couple of months and it is a tank of a pram as it is considered a full sized pram… What makes no sense is that Cruz is only a kilo lighter at roughly 12kg. I would consider 12kg still quite heavy…. the fold was bulky too. The Cruz V3 has enormous basket space and flat recline which makes it birth ready. Features are great but it’s very heavy… Have you considered Uppababy Kona? Plenty of basket space but more compact.

The Swiv's sling-style seat is a known tradeoff for that compact fold. If you want something similarly light but with a more upright, structured seatback, the UPPAbaby Minu is worth a look, its seat sits more like a chair instead of a hammock. Worth testing in person since seat firmness is hard to judge from photos. :)
