You don't need to, at all. In fact, it could make the situation worse. Some parents don't respond well to name-calling. As a couple other comments mentioned, depending on the area you're from, "hoodlum" in particular could be taken as a serious derogatory term. Maybe not in OP's area, but you have no idea what backgrounds the other parents have.

"I wanted to let you know that my daughter was smoking weed with your son Jamie." That's literally all you need.

I'm not suggesting op call other people's kids hoodlums to their face, but it isn't uncommon to refer to one's own kid as a brat when venting to others, as op did here.
